We don't treat ours with any sealer. We do get it specifically cleaned each spring. Should be done in the next couple weeks and will post pictures. I thought I liked the sealed look but once we saw how it looked after the "deep cleaning" we left it.
We don't either Zach. about once every month or two, I wet it down, sprinkle Bar Keepers Friend on it (oxalic acid), brush it against the grain, let it sit 10 minutes and rinse. Looks great. About every 5 years, have it sanded to remove any raised grain and that's it for us...

Ive been asked by a few members about access to the salon AC unit for replacement. You need to remove the entire salon couch including brackets, Base and seat backs. Then remove the small side table. These are simply all small Philips screws. Wear a long sleeve and have different lengths of Philips drivers for both the drill and handtool. You sill mostly be feeling the screws and reaching in with your arm, hence the long sleeve. After you remove the side table you will have to remove the panel against the entertainment wall in order to access the unit. Prepare for this one, its not easy. Some screws you have to go around to the stateroom access door to release them. Once exposed you will see this:

remove the old unit and size up the new one. We used the Dometic replacement for this which is the DTU16 230 Volt. Cost was about $ 2350 wholesale and it used the existing Thermostat. THe new unit is totally diiferent configuration and you will need to extend the water lines and drain line. Also need to rotate the fan at an angle. Electric was the easiest part. Finished product looks like this:

Then put humpty dumpty back together again. Good luck.
Just curious as to how you went about extending the water lines?

Removed the old Clarion remote heads and replaced them with new Fusion N RX300 NEMA 2000 remotes. Problem was the Clarion hole was too big. Reached out to Sam at Tecnografic and he was able to make me some plates that covered the hole, finished in my black burl dash Searay original finish. Super happy they look great. Thanks Sam!!! Some more projects with Tecnografic definately in the works soon....

Ok so today was all about upgrading the steering. Since I bought this boat the steering has been squeaky and loose at the helm. Someone on here (sorry I didn't look back to give the proper props) told me there was an upgrade to the SeaStar tilt steering system. Well he was right and WOW what a difference. The HA6523 update is well worth the $235 bucks and the hour it took to install.

The old plastic POS and bushings are replaced by a metal until with bearings. Super tight and much nicer feel.

Quick question does any one know what weight our lifts are rated for? Looking at adding a couple jetski's to the fleet and want to see if I could put one on the lift if we wanted to

800 lbs.

Thanks, I had that in my mind and couldn't find it anywhere to verify. The ski's we got weigh just over that. Does anyone else have jetski's on their lift? Come to think of it I am not sure the weight of our caribe D11 and 40 hp outboard that is usually on there

FWIW going by the listed specs it appears your Caribe D11 w/40HP is around 600 lbs dry with no additional options.

I have a Yamaha FXHO 3 seater and had no problem with it on the lift. I believe most stock wave runners will not be an issue.

Thanks, The ski we would put on the lift would be a 2006 Sea Doo RXT and looks like weight is 829 lbs. We wouldn't travel with it just a slow cruise about 5 miles to anchor for long weekends. The dingy is what we use on the lift if we run on plane anywhere for longer trips

Help needed locating something similar to the attached photo for use when connecting my 50 amp shore power cords together. The two do not match up perfectly and my internet search is coming up empty.

Anyone know where I can find the plastic latches on the on the skylight windows that pop open on the hardtop. The parts catalog does not list them, Mine are working but pins are rusting and very stiff. I would like to get some replacements. Any help much appreciated.

My broker asked me if I received notice of a recall on our boats. He didn't have any more details. Has anyone heard anything?

PO left me with a parting gift...
The second headrest pulls out from the bottom of the helm chair. Any suggestions on how best to re-secure it?

Anyone familiar with Rapid Marine Service in Lauderdale for an engine survey company? How about Performance Marine Survey for a hull survey? Working on buying. 2006 48DA and these are the companies recommended by my broker. Any input appreciated. Thanks!
