Helping my buddy take all his upper deck upholstery out since he is having it all re-done. Question the side panels above the sink on the port side in with just christmas trees or are there bolts involved. Also the small piece on the port side where the A/C controls are mounted screws or christmas trees? Any help appreciated before I tackle this tomorrow.

My understanding and knowledge is that it is all Christmas trees...

All, I have noticed when tied up I consistently get CO into the cabin ( alarms
Going off) although I understand how this happens as we are tied up to Gas boats it does make me think how it is getting Into the cabin.
Figure there is no silver bullet here but Looking for ideas on areas to look at tightening up. ( door seals, window seals, better blowers etc) any ideas that may help?

I"m tracking down a freshwater leak...in addition to changing out the shower sump box, can any of you tell me if you have this filter in line prior to the 2 freshwater pumps and if so know of a replacement part? If not, thoughts on just removing? @TheWolfTC any thoughts?

Hi Scott,
That filter looks a lot like this one https://www.westmarine.com/buy/yach...r-clear-sump-black-top--11768546?recordNum=21
Based on what I see, your filter is after the pumps. The 2 small lines under this filter come from the water holding tank, 1 into each pump, then out to the larger line to feed entire boat. If I am not mistaken the first tee coming off the large line feeds the spigot under the batteries in engine room.

Seems odd to me to have it after the pumps though. I have a similar filter on the dock before it gets to the boat.

But it could be something I have never seen before as well....just seems a bit odd for its placement.

yes you are correct all christmas trees. Popped right out once I got the panel tool behind the edge.

Next question where are the fuses for the co and smoke alarms? The aft bedrrom unit took a crap and the sent him a new unit but he lost power to that circuit. I know on my boat there is a 1 amp fuse beind my panel. We looked on his and nothing. Where did they hide them on the 46? Also what have you done for replacement sensors? They sent him a completely different unit that really does not fit and you have to install a switch plate to cover the previous holes.

Thanks Bill-as always, put it on my tab.....

Remember that you have a vent fan in each head and in the galley. All of the outside vent exits are below the rub rail and might be near someone else's generator or the exhaust might be getting trapped between the boats.

Great point, and i am thinking maybe good to run them if other have generators on. I have notice my fans getting louder. Might be good To check those out as I am sure they are original. Anyone know if they are easily accessible?

Any info on where the fuses are for the smoke and CO2 alarms are?

Has anyone added a sound shield to your generator? I have a Westerbeke 8.0 BTDA.

I was looking at this one. Are you happy with it? Looks like a pretty good set up.
P.O. spent $1k on it the year before I bought the boat so I have known nothing else, but the gen to me is pretty quiet and to work on the gen it's all velcro attached so pretty slick as for removing and re-installing.

Well they have increased cost a bit. I was quoted 1700. I do think it is a good set up and Don told me you can expect an 18-21 decibel drop which is pretty significant. Does yours have a fan to pull heat? This design does. How many years have you had your boat?

13 years and no additional fan needed for me...
