460 DA Owners Thread

Absolutely! I'll send you a message with my phone #. You can give me a ring tomorrow after lunch if you get free.

For all of the boaters that have to put their "babies" into hibernation for the winter, my friend came up with a solution to keep her on your mind all winter! To that end, I hung it on the wall under my clock in the nook so that I know it is "BOAT time" all year long!

If you would like one of your boat, message me and I will get you connected with Alan. He can handle any logo you have (PDF, .AI etc.), or make it from a picture.

Ok, anyone on here have a suggestion on a replacement fixture or source for the lense cover? One of mine is missing from the fixture in the head over the shower. I've replaced the bulb with LED, but may need a whole new fixture if I cant find this coverView attachment 97788

Wow-thanks so much! FYI, got my stainless foot control covers on and they look awesome! Figured my air horns out-compressor is good but horns themselves need replaced-on order. Got my led lights working on the boat name-man what a day!

Thanks so much Bill for all the help. I hope our paths cross and I can buy you a drink and a steak in appreciation!!!

So, what horns did you go with?

A boating friend of mine owns a machine shop in Bay City Michigan. I gave him the plastic one and he matched it in aluminum. He hand turned it as he doesn’t have a CNC lathe.
I told him last night at dinner if I post this on CSR he may get orders...:) He said $30 each. It’s labor time and not material.

We could get them cheaper if we ordered a few hundred LOL
Put me down for one. How did you secure it?

Hi Everyone,

Does any one carry a PWC on the swim platform or tow one behind? I'm thinking about buying this product that I came across. https://magicmarinetow.com/

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I think it would be a good option for short distances in calm to moderate seas but I wouldn't want a ski back there getting towed on a rough day. We've got a hydraulic platform and keep a jet ski on it. It certainly adds weight and forces me to keep the trim tabs down (hurting fuel economy and ride), but it works well. I also know that you aren't supposed to tow a PWC without first closing down the water intake on the PWC so you would need to install a valve to easily shut that off and be careful not to forget to close it and open it!

I installed EZ BOAT SOLE a few years ago I really like it and it was easy to install. I installed the cherry and holly it’s a little lighter than the teak and holly. The product is actually Nautic floor based on the labeling on the packaging.

What did you do for stairs or rounded edges?

Dabble
I used matching sheet material and flexible molding for curved vertical areas. My stairs are pretty straight forward so just used matching trim.

Hi Guys,
New project idea and I would appreciate the thoughts/feedback. The main question really is, will this idea hurt re-sale value some day??

The salon sofa has never been used, and we don't see ever using it as BED. Works great as a couch, but all the wasted space under it for storage is a shame. My idea would be to remove the mechanism underneath it, remove the "frilly" bolster below the seat and build a storage cabinet under it. Working on the design ideas for top access (move seat and drop stuff in) as well as a couple of doors on the front face. I think we have nixed the idea of any drawers as they would take up too much framing space. There would only be about 12" of total height.

At the forward area, we can gain 28" of overall depth and at the stern portion about 34" with about 6'5" of length...that's a lot of storage space for all the "stuff" we have laying around in the mid-berth any given summer. So, this would just be a couch with mass storage under it and no longer a bed.

I know we all use our boats a little differently and this may be an idea that never gets off the ground, but what is the opinion of the group as to whether or not this would be a detriment to resale value later. How many people actually use this as a bed??

Thanks!

I think that is a great idea. One thing about the 460 is when you really start to look at all the places they could of made storage but didn't. I have felt the same way about that couch and the one in the aft.

For the one in the main salon I think if you could make it so the couch can be manually converted to a bed that would be the best way to go with the added storage under it. " Go look at some RV this weekend" That way it doesn't hurt resale.
Hell you almost have to do it manually now with how the system works.

I would like to take out our aft couch and and make it to a permanent bed with storage under it. The bed would hinge up just like a RV master bed. you could store so much under it. We never convert the aft from bed to couch so for us it would work great and I think for resale if done correctly no one would know there was ever a couch in the aft.
For our boating that lay out would work best and I am pretty sure when it comes time to sell ours it will go to someone that keeps it on our lake and our aft cabins are all about sleeping not lounging.

I bet if you send the idea to our friends up north doing the rebuild of thehttp://www.clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/my-boat-renovation.95256/

They would come up with a hell of an idea.

I think it is a good idea and would not hurt resale. One thing to think about is to make a pedestal type box and have the couch hinge up like on a RV so you reach into the storage space and then be able to drop the sofa to the bed mode manually. When you really start to look around on the 460 lots of places the designers could of made storage space.
I want to take the sofa out of the aft cabin and just put a permanent full size bed with the same type of design under it for storage.
We only use our aft cabin for sleeping so it is always in bed mode.
I think the change would add to our resale not take from it. As I feel when we sell the boat it will stay on Lake Powell and on our lake the aft cabins are used for sleeping not lounging.
