420 DA Thread

I think I had the same snapped clutch nut a few years ago....I used a needle nose plier and was able to get it out with clockwise turning. I was dreading the fight but it ended up releasing much easier than I imagined.

Usually they snap because someone accidentally overtightened it thinking they were loosening it
Exactly, I've snapped one on our 320. It was also very easy to remove with a needle nose pliers.

Were you guys able to just buy the socket bolt?… if so where

I’m going to stop by the boat tomorrow and get make and model and see if I can get the broken part out

You moving up??
I’m trying to….. there are a lot of people in my way standing there with their hand out looking for money….. once I get thru them I will know what I’m doing
Two problems with my boat.. a broken bolt in the windless and the red nav light is out….. I said seriously?….. broker is changing the bulb. I got stuck with the bolt

Then surveyor said he wants proof the new zincs are magnesium not zinc….. he said they looked like zinc…. That made me chuckle a bit

They say buying a boat is the happiest day and selling a boat is your happiest day….. I’m not exactly that happy right now

It's a Lofrans Project 1000 windlass. You need the clutch nut. Lofrans is an Italian company and they don't make that model anymore. I can't remember where I found one but you should be able to locate a clutch nut for it for about $150.00.

Gosh darn! Just give them a $500 credit and call it a day. People are ridiculously picky.

Well you got lucky….. my busted off stud said the hell with you…. A punch and a 1,000 hammers later I won

RE: Sea Trial. How well do you know the broker? Grease the buyers, broker and inspector w/ good donuts and a nice bottle of bubbly. A few buck goes a long way. Did they suggest holding back a few bucks for a couple weeks. I think out was 5k hold back.

Added some speakers on the bow last weekend. I don’t care for the look of the wakeboard tower speakers, so thanks to a picture on here decided to go the stealth route. This way when moored at Catalina and hanging out on the bow we just open the bow locker hatches. The rest of the time the boat looks “normal”.

Had to upgrade the amp at the same time so when with the new 8-channel Fusion Apollo series. The rest of the speakers and subs in the cockpit sound quite a bit better as well. Win-win…

On that note, how do I get pictures to actually show in the thread as opposed to being attachments? Is it a file size thing?

Original equipment Salon fridge works on 12v but not 110v. Freezer works on both

My OEM fridge was same. Pulled it out and it was not wired for 110v...only for 12v. There was a "black box" behind it...some kind of converter to 110v, but I could not get it to work. Ran it off of 12v the entire 3 years I had the boat with never an issue. Freezer was arranged the same way. Removed the "black box" from it, plugged it into 110v and it worked off of either....now, mine was a 2003 and not sure the OEM refrigerator was ever designed to run off of 110v....

Just pulled up the Parts List and it shows: 7 REFRIGERATOR, 3.9CF WAECO W/FLUSH VENT AC/DC

Mine did not even have a wire/male plug for 110v......

Both the Fridge and Freezer are plugged into 110v

I bet I have been running it off 12v for ever
