420 DA Thread

2 questions

There would seem to be a built-in sleeve designed to hold the salon sink cover in the tall sliding drawer next to the wall . Ee could not open the drawer wide enough to drop the cover in in the way it would appear go. Is it somehow adjustable. Seems like we just need another inch of travel. Suggestions?

Secondly, what's the protocol for maintaining the A/C units? I have no idea on the history or status, other than the 3 all seemed to work fine last year. Suggestions?

Not a question but any hints or warnings on how best to switch out the impeller SBMAR provided for our Sherwood pumps would be also greatly appreciated.

Our stove cover was tight fit but it fit. If you cant open the drawer enough I would see if there is something caught in the tracks and jamming.

@Lovichka 420 DA - you are correct you can put the stove top cover in there. It took us a while to figure out how to do it as well. You have to approach it at a slight angle and almost really force the pull out drawer as far out as it will go and it will end up sliding in just fine. Removal for some reason seems to be easier than insertion.
 
Reaching out for some help, the ACR manufactured spotlight on our 2003 420DA has stopped working. I did replace the RCL-100 point pad. It appears that it is a ground or loose wiring issue as I am a ale to get power to the coaxial cable that connects to the touch pad control if I wiggle wires under the dash. Does anyone have any experience with this or have the wiring diagram available for the original OEM spotlight system? Thanks in advance.

@Lovichka 420 DA - attached are a few pics I took today showing how you have to insert the stove top at an angle to get it to clear the lip of the counter:

Have to replace clamshell side vent. Need to paint to match blue hull of my 03. Anyone have suggestions.
 
Take the old one to a Auto paint supply house. Chances are they can scann the finish and make you a pint or better a small spray bomb to match. Good Luck. Mike
 
Can any one shed some experience on weather or not some one handles the bedding for the 420 / 44? or do we need to find local house to make? Thanks, Mike

Problem is I just bought the boat and it’s just gone. I don’t want to pry out the other ones and break off the little trees that hold it in.

Hi @ocgrant - I made the connection to both the Fusion head unit as well as to the Antenna using the adapter you recommended. The Fusion displays the Radio ID ... however there is no sound coming out. When I have been in cars for example when you have a non-activated SiriusXM radio you hear the Sirius promo message playing on the radio giving instructions on how to activate the radio. I don't hear that at all - so thinking that maybe there is a problem with the antenna or the cable leading to the antenna. When you plugged it in - did you hear the Sirius promo message before activating the radio?

Mike, we purchased our boat last year and with it came a brand new 'Huron Yacht Mattress' made by Spine Align, 741 Chicago Drive, Holland, MI. 49423. Price, incl. taxes, for the mattress alone was $1800. The previous owner never touched it and all the bedding and sheets that came with it were packaged. Boat is wrapped up tight so I can't offer much more than this pic I took when we 1st looked at buying it (no idea who made the blue protective cover). Memory tells me it's not a thick mattress but still, we slept like babies on it all last summer. I'm none to fussy about those sorts of things but my Princess is a princess and it passed her serious scrutiny. Not one complaint. Highly recommend it.

A big moving blanket over the top of the Portside batteries can be your friend. I have wiggled out from there over the exhaust tube, but it is tight!

I changed my batteries a few years ago, and frankly it wasn't that hard as long as you have a buddy with some decent arm strength. I used a rope and with him suspending the battery from the top, I was down below guiding the battery down, over, down, and over.

Just saw your post. Bought new batteries for the port engine and have been dreading the thought of how to wrestle them down the ladder, around the engine AFTER hauling the old ones out. Was hoping Santa would send me a crane but no luck there. Good to hear is can be a two man job.

Two man job - One up top with a line around the battery handle and lowers it to the other man in battery area to put in place. I was the man up top while my son was in bilge. In 30 minutes we finished both sides.. :)

Thank You, We found local mattress company to do custom size. Its all coming together!
 
Anyone tinted their windsheild? I'm told by installers it's too difficult a job to complete given the sharp angle between glass and dash. Thought occured to tint the glass from the exterior instead.

Not say'n is a good idea, just an idea.

@Lovichka 420 DA - I can confirm that the process @villain style described is the exact one that my 16 year old son & I followed together to get the new batteries in (as well as the old batteries out).

Getting the one of the old batteries out was a big PITA - because the old handle was broken - so we had to fashion a makeshift cradle for that one.
