420 DA Thread

Yeah, same as me. Irritated me that it wasn't working.

I don't have it in front of me, but my local dealer is a Marine Max and the parts gal there was able to quickly look it up. Once it arrives, I'll see if there is a Sea Ray part number on the box and post it up for ya.

Thank you.

We brought her home! 90 mile trip from Huntington Beach to San Diego on Friday. Flat seas, perfect weather, and everything ran perfectly. Couldn’t ask for a better ‘maiden voyage’

Thanks again for your help with all of my pre-purchase questions. I’m sure there will be plenty of post-purchase to follow...

Here are a few pics...

@Chief Ed - congrats on the boat! I’m just north of you in MDR.

The umbrella caught my eye! I can only make out the word “shade” from your pic. Can you please let me know who makes it? I have been looking for something similar.

Thanks for that. It’s Hydra Shade. Works pretty well, but only makes shade in the back corner of the cockpit (depending on sun angle of course). We bought for our old 330DA and moved it over to this one. Since we had it out this weekend probably had 10 dock neighbors come by and say “Wow! I want one”, Nobody ever commented on it before. I guess everything looks better in a bigger boat...

oing to do a more permanent canvas extension at some point, but haven’t found what I like yet...

So after a year of erratic gauges(4 in1) I replaced my DieselView with another DieselView because I was told by a Tech it had issues. Well after some resets on the new (used) DV the gauges began working. Now a week or so later my front and center e120 loses all its backlight. Left e120 still working. Fast forward two weeks again and now my left e-120 won't power up. Dead. Center e-120 comes on but can't see data even though backlight indicator is all the way up. Does anyone have any ideas on this? Are they somehow tied into the DV? Thanks..

Unless someone created a SeatalkNG network and converted the Smartcraft to SeatlakNG then no there is no relationship.
I still have those two E120's you can have - make an offer...

The backlights on the E120's need to be replaced. They're 14 years old and it's very common to have them partially light or not light at all after their service life. I did mine at the beginning of the season with https://maxmarineelectronics.com. Cost was $400.00. Unit works perfectly now. Dockmates have done the same thing.

75 hours in 60 days. Lov'n our new ship.

3 shout-outs for help.

I have a OEM Onan 9.0 kw Genset (model 9MDKAV-2982B). Wasted ton of time trying to locate online thru Cummings' site and others, an operating manual / service manual. 1st order of the day is to located the dipstick of which there doesn't appear to be one. Can't be right. Don't want to burn that puppy out.

Secondly, Raymarine radar unit on the hardtop makes a spooky constant noise when spinning, one that seems to be crying out for lube or service. Works fine otherwise. Any advice on making it run quiet would be much appreciated. (bucket of WD-40??)

Lastly, the previous owner installed in 2018 a new Raymarine camera on the hardtop, connected to an also brand new Axiom 12". The camera view on the screen is reversed. Can't for the life of me figure how to invert the view so that I don't wack the port side dock with the starboard side of the boat !! Any advice beyond get a big mirror installed would as well be much appreciated.

Register on the Cummins Quickserve site. You will need the serial number from the generator (and engine if you want engine info) and it will give you access to all the manuals, parts diagrams and other info about your specific builds. The site is a bit clunky to use, but there is a massive amount of info on the site.

Real world fuel numbers. We are on a big trip. This is from home port, intermediate stop at a marina, no fuel up, then continue to second marina where we fueled up. According to Mr. Garmin, we traveled 147 miles. I took on 87 gallons Port, and 89.2 Starboard. Genny on Stbd. 7.5 hours of run time. 23.5 gph, 0.8342 mpg.
