On another note, changed the side nav lights with new ones. Now I need to see about an led bulb for the rear white running light. Anyone try one with succes? What model bulb if so?

did u change the bulb or whole light. please list what u changed out to, i hope to have my 44 next month and will change it all over to led. It is a great improvement, i have done it on my current boat.
thanks

I changed out the whole light assembly with bulb. Went back with incandescent because I couldn’t justify the cost of led lamp assembly’s. I think led lamps were about $160 per side. The incandescent a we’re about $35 per side. If I can find suitable led bulbs I’d replace them and for the rear white also if I find a suitable led bulb I’d like to replace the old bulb.
My old side light lenses were clouding up so the new ones look much nicer as well as the plastic casing looks much nicer than the original 16 year old ones.

Has anyone with mechanical engines installed a Maretron fuel monitoring set up to get their mpg’s and flows really accurately? Was thinking about installing on mine and display via NMEA2k on chartplotter. Wondering what components are needed besides the two sensors per engine and the monitor, plus what costs for parts am I looking at.

Does anyone know who sells replacements for the anchor light mast and base?

So I got the new compressor in and installed it. It is definitely better than the old pump. It it is definitely lame at best. so I’m going to look into compressor and tank setup off the the windlass power feed and will run a short length of wire from present compressor wires to the anchor locker to trigger the tank solenoid.
Not totally clear on your installation, but I believe you mentioned your compressor is under the master berth. Is there room for a pressure tank in the same location? Seems like a better spot than in the anchor locker.

Also, what type of switch is currently used? Is is a momentary power switch, or a low voltage switch that controls a solenoid to energize the compressor?

The current set up is a simple Wolo 808C compressor connected to the air line going to horns. I believe the switch on the helm switch panel probably trips a relay to provide power to compressor as long as you hold the horn switch which is a momentary type. The compressor is installed against the forward bulkhead just in front of the forward ac under the mattress of master stateroom.
I am probably going to order a tank and compressor and once in hand I can place components around the ac and see if enough room. I think it may be possible but not a lot of empty space so until I have parts on hand I can’t say for sure.

Do you need the entire mast and base, or is it just the light fixture that is done?
I’d like to replace at least the base as it’s getting a bit corroded and does not seem to tighten up as it should and the mast can be moved sideways without much effort. But if I was to find the whole thing that’s be great too as mast has a little corrosion too.

Ah, ok. I replaced just the light fixture part of it. Had to buy an entire Attwood assembly and take it apart to use just the light head.

The old one was corroded...

B O A T S , so I installed a new kahlenberg air compressor today. That horn is loud thats for sure but now I found the air tank has pin holes in the bottom. I have a stainless accumulator tank I will be putting in tomorrow.

New project! Replacing my old Northstar VHF radio since the handset cable is literally hanging on by a thread. While I am at it, I plan to add AIS. I really like the Vesper stuff but I don't think I will use the Vesper VHF. The plan is to replace the radio, most likely with a Ray90, and add either the Vesper Cortex M1 or XB-8000 for AIS. Discussion thread here: Thoughts on Vesper Cortex | Club Sea Ray.

This is part of an upgrade that will eventually also replace the two E120s, radar, and autopilot.

I am now trying to fully understand what my migration path for networking will be, and how all the various devices are currently interconnected via SeaTalk (SeaTalk1), SeaTalkHS, and NMEA 0183. The manuals do not detail this...I can only find some references to SeaTalk and NMEA junction boxes.

Has anyone already mapped this out for our model? It will be another month or so before I can get aboard to open the helm up to get an idea.

Great timing on your post. I am in the midst of replacing an old C 120 Ray Marine as well as say older garmin 5212with new Garmin equipment.
I plan on Keeping my Ray Marine auto pilot since it’s working perfectly good. I have not traced out any wiring yet, but does anyone know if the Raymarine auto pilot is also connected via sea talk or otherwise to anything else that I should leave behind a helm for it to work properly?
my plan is to remove the two older chartplotters, a vhf, radar, and anything else the autopilot is not connected to, but since I’m not familiar with the older Raymarine stuff I thought I’d ask.

I was going to buy a new Kalenbergh air compressor kit with tank but when I was talking to the company the guy asked what horns did I have. After talking with Sea Ray cust service I have the cheaper marinco horns which are direct compressor powered. Kalenbergh said those horns would not handle their hi pressure without damage to horns. so not sure at this point what I’ll do. I have other things higher priority to spend $900 on than horns on the many updates and upgrades to do at moment. I’ll update later when I get back to horn project in the future.

I couldn't help myself I had to cut into mine too. I found water. I decided to cut a hole such that I could access all three chambers separated by the formers. I still need to clean up the intersection of the formers and seal with resin after the wood has a chance to dry out.

I also just installed new LED work lights in the bilge now it lights up like an operating theater!
I cut this access hole in mine today and removed around 25 gallons of water and then about an hour later took out another 5 gallons. My question for you is did you have a slight diesel fuel Oder in this access hole? I also notice it in the bilge under the stairs in kitchen.

Wow! That's a lot of agua! I never had any diesel smell to speak of. I would take a really good look at your fresh water system manifold and all your fittings. Bennet has posted several times about his experience finding minor leaks that filled this area eventually. I would also evacuate as much water as I could then turn off the freshwater system for a day or so and see if water in still making its way in. A buddy of mine with an 04 420 had a leak at a thru hull transducer that leaked water into voids in the glass hull that eventually made its way into the center of the bilge. He had the boat pulled, thy pulled the thru hull transducer and water dripped out of the hull structure for over a day. Where are you in Nor Cal? There are several of us, current and past 420/44DB owners in the Benicia-Suisun area, we pool our knowledge and resources to help one another from time to time. PM if you like
Cheers

I had water getting into the center bilge area under the stairs and would occasionally trip the bilge pump in there along with the high water alarm. Further investigation revealed that that washing machine inlet valve fir hot water was fracture and leaking water from freshwater system. I cut the water off to washing machine and got new valves a few days later. Also while waiting on new valves I dried the center bilge and it has stayed dry so I knew in my case it was the broken valve causing water in there.

What location did you all cut this hole at?
