410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

There’s a nice discussion on the 410 Facebook group regarding adding tabs over the tunnels. Who else has done that?

the sample given was impressive - flat running angle with way less tab about about 2mph increase at the same RPM

for ~$600 or so that’s the first item on my next offseason list

I read that, very interesting, prob will add it to my list. I also saw you recently did your Turbo's on your 3126, i am assuming they are the same ones on my 99 3116 TA? Was wondering if you had the part number. My local CAT dealer has already screwed me over hard on trying to diagnose my problems, i have narrowed it down to Turbo's, Governor A/F ratio controller, or injector cups. Since i cant find anyone with 3116 experience to work on my boat I shall do it myself. Going to start with turbo's.

not sure if they’re identical, your aftercoolers are different so it might also be a different turbo. Sorry you’ve had bad luck with your dealer, you could call another one - they’ll all ship parts. Milton CAT Batavia NY has been great for me.

our turbo PN is 20R-2982 for the reman version. Have you tried SIS on parts.cat.com? It’s been accurate for me

Thanks for the Info I got on SIS and was able to find the part number, 10R-9769 for the CAT reman, 157-386 is number for a new one, what is crazy that CAT throws their name on a Borg Warner turbo and charges another 2 grand for it. Crossed it to Borg Warner 179588 and got 2 brand new ones on order for 2400 total. After reading your thread on EGT's, im def getting the dual boost and pyro gauges, and that new turbos was the way to go even if they arent the issue. Fingers crossed this fixes some things. Next I am going to tackle is the governor and a/f ratio controller make sure that is on par.

good deal, glad you were able to cross-reference. I looked as well but could not find one for the 3126. A bunch of aftermarket shops said it’s still “restricted” to CAT whatever that means.

Damn that sucks. Prob that Borg Warner can only sell to CAT and not to the public?

Could be, oh well it’s done now and it runs beautifully.

make sure you get the gasket kit and I would also get 4 new nuts that hold it to the manifold. They’re taper lock and shouldn’t be reused. Mine were 15mm and I needed to grind a stubby wrench down to fit

Sounds good thanks for the heads up.

This is the most nerve racking thing I have done on this boat. PLEASE! Can Anyone tell me how to get this panel down? I found the screws in the front and it doesn’t seem like it has more screws that I can feel. But it’s definitely being held up by some thing. I need to get it off to through bolt the bracket for my hardtop.

So how did you get the screws from the aft edge out? Looks like quite a puzzle. You prolly ought to have a beer, relax.

You might be the first to pull that panel!!

If you take the starboard panel out first it becomes obvious. There are five hidden screws in the forward edge and one screw in front of the electrical panel cabinet. Slide the panel forward and it comes out.

Moved our 98’ Sundancer 400 to Lake Lanier. I’ve got a pair of Garmin 7212’s. Garmin says Lakevu G3 is not compatible. I’m having a hard time finding a lakevu gps map card that will work. Any help is appreciated.
