40 sedan bridge forum

Thanks guys. I checked Defender and Flounder Pounder and don't see anything like what was on my locker. Did you put that slam latch on the transom Locker? It looks more like the latches on the lockers in my cockpit. The one that broke was black plastic and about 1/2" x 1&1/2".

When I was hauled last year, we weighed out at 32,000lbs. It's a beat up lift so the scale may be a little off.

We r planning to take our 400DB out of the water for some work to be done. Does somebody know what the approximate gross weight is? The dry weight suppose to be 24.000 pounds but that seems to be pretty low... the marinas trailer capacity is 30.000 pounds and the marina is not sure if they should give it a shot.

My boat routinely tips the scales at +|- 33,000 lbs. The weight has been consistent since new in 2003.

The previous owner of my 400DB had to replace that latch and installed the same latch that is on the cockpit engine room hatch. The boat is FL right now so I can't take a picture. But they did have to cut out for it as it is a bit larger.

That would actually look much better than the plastic one that was there and way better than the little bungie cord holding it shut now!!

Thanks for your input about the weights of our ladies. They have quite some pounds. I hope it will work with trailer. If not we need a crane....

I'd like to replace the plastic covers on my arch. Does anybody know where to get it?

I went to West Marine and they don't have it in the store, I google it and I found the same covers exactly the same with 4 screws they matched perfectly I change all of them
I don't remember where I bought but do a search online and you will find it, if I find the information where I bought mines I will post it.

I have a custom bow cushion that fills the entire bow. It's five pieces. The previous owner that had it done used screw in snaps and anchors to hold it in place. Not really a fan of that method. I wish they had just anchored it to the hand rail. We really don't use it so it's in the attic while the boat is in FL. I will lay it out in my garage and take a picture tomorrow.

I've been trying to buy our next boat, a 400DB for months now. It's unbelievable how many we've looked at and missed, passed on, or just not been able to go see. This is by far the most helpful forum/community with regards to boats. You guys are a wealth of knowledge that isn't found in other forums for other boats. I currently have an offer on a Silverton 42 Convertible and the lack of forum correspondence is one of my major sticking points. Bill, Frank, Fernando, Mike, heck...everyone...you should all congratulate yourselves for your participation in helping others enjoy a great boat. I am still holding out hope that we'll find the 400DB that we want but the competition is stiff.

I just installed the new base for the Magma grill,

This is a much better holder for the grill

Here are pictures of the Caesar Stone Quartz table we made for the fly bridge. We used the salon table, removed the chorion and added the Caesar Stone. A bit heavy but looks great.

Has anybody tightened the bow rails? The 2nd stantion (from aft forward) is loose, and I cannot access the bolt. Has anybody cut an access hole, or have some words of wisdom here? This is both sides, and short of pulling engines and fuel tanks, I'm not seeing too many tricks.
