40 sedan bridge forum

I like the boat. I don't think those seats will really clean up but I'm a perfectionist. Upholstery shops are everywhere. Personally I would budget that in the replacement items even if it's not for a year.

Running gear looks okay to me because you will have to clean it up and paint for fresh water anyway.

I can't see the third pic you posted, doesn't look like it's showing up.

I'd like to replace the plastic covers on my arch. Does anybody know where to get it?

We replaced our bridge and cockpit speakers with JBL and are very satisfied with them. We also replaced the subwoofer and added two more amps along with a Fusion stereo. Sounds awesome.

I just replaced the galley faucet. One problem we've had for a while is that the pressure seems low. The master head faucet has a ton of pressure. Any idea why the galley pressure would be lower? I want to put a filter on the cold water line but it will reduce the pressure even more.

Check all your aerators on all your faucets. Some may be clogged up, some may have flow limiters in them, and some may not. Everything new in stores is now 1.5gpm. I found some 2.0gpm still on the shelf in stores last year and put them on all three of the faucets.

If any fellow 400DB owners are in need of selected pieces of canvas/top enclosure for their boat, please see my post in the Classifieds section. I'd love to see it go to a good home as opposed to taking up space in the basement. We switched from the Toast Tweed color to Black last season. Much appreciated.

I would love to have a AC up on the fly bridge. Does anybody here has one installed or knows somebody who has?

We r planning to take our 400DB out of the water for some work to be done. Does somebody know what the approximate gross weight is? The dry weight suppose to be 24.000 pounds but that seems to be pretty low... the marinas trailer capacity is 30.000 pounds and the marina is not sure if they should give it a shot.

Take your dry weight and add fuel, water, and all personal items to get approximate weight Diesel=6lbs per gal, water=7lbs per gal, personal items depends on the admiral...lol try dumping the water and waste tanks and burn down the fuel. you should be ok if the dry weight is correct..

Thanks for the math dcpringle :) but has anybody had his boat weighed? For some reason the dry weight seems low to me and before going through the hassle trying to get the boat out and ending up being to havy, I'd like to ask the group for actual numbers

You are close, maybe. Here's what I know: Mine weighs +/- 32000 hanging in the slings at winter haulout with full fuel all other tanks empty.
The diesels weigh about 1000 more each than your motors. That puts you right there. I know that other 2003/2004 400DB owners here have stated their boats weigh the same.
Here's what I'm not sure about: I recently had the pleasure of meeting a 2001 owner and CSR member at a marina in Florida, our boats only 1 dock away from each other, and his boat floated at least 2" higher in the water than mine. Mine never is that high in the water, even at winter haul out. The other owner mentioned a hull manufacturing change in or about 2001 regarding coring changes that made post '01 models heavier, so maybe you would be ok. Maybe others here know something about that. If your haulers travel lift has weight read capabilities, let us know what you have.

Thanks Mark! U r right, I should be right at the max capacity of my marinas hydrolic trailer... does somebody out there knows the weight of a 2001? If we can't use the trailer we have to use a crane and that's what I try to avoid, many bucks :(

That does it. After almost three years of tolerating it, we have had it with the awkward, bulky bridge table. Going to try it for a while with it removed. We never ate on it anyway. And then there is that brilliant idea of four little depressions they call cup holders. More like cup spillers. Now much easier for guests to walk around and sit on the bridge.

We hated it too so we're using the smaller one from the Salon. Didn't like the look of it so we had one made from Caesar Stone. Just the right size and can get in and out with ease and still have a table. Just took the shrink wrap off today and will take a picture for you next time go to the boat. It's a bit heavy but looks and works great.

The Latch on my transom locker broke at the end of the season and I can't find the parts anywhere. Can anyone tell me the make of it and if possible where I can order one?

have you checked on flounder pounder

They are called slam latches and you should be able to purchase them from Flounder Pounder. That is where I bought the stainless steel replacement ones for my boat when I upgraded. Beware, they are specific to the thickness of the hatch you are installing them into.
This is what mine look like:
