Underwater lights 4 tv's including Custom on arch so you can sit out on deck in the fall and watch football games. 240 hours on engines fresh bottom paint. Kept very clean also unique custom canopy

Boat Trader Online, Ebay, this site: Club SeaRay..............not necessarily in that order:)

We are finally finsihed with the yellow pollen here in Atlanta this week. "Reward" will get a cleaning and we are going to try Boat Trader and this site to sell her...

There's a guy who's a sponsor over at THT, has a section under services called Anglers Edge. For a reasonably small fee, like maybe $300 or less, he lists your boat on a gazillion websites. I think it runs for about a year. No commission. You write the script and supply the photos, he does the rest. I sold a boat through him and it took about 3 weeks. You might find that getting everything to him before Memorial Day would be helpful. A lot of people boat that weekend and it turns on the juices. Good luck.

It could be a bad ground wire or connection off the coil. I would ask Dale, Masterfab for advice on what to check next...

Thanks, checking the coil next! Contact info for Dale?

FYI. Replacement canvas (eisenglass visor and side curtains, front and rear bimini off radar arch, and three panel rear canvas with center window panel) is just under $2,000 at Great Lakes, plus shipping - a nice $400 bill to send that to Hawaii. it includes the rubber molded windshield grip that the sponsor company here said wasn't available. can't wait.

Okay, fellow 340 Sea Ray owners, you are either all 6'6" body builders to put the canvas on this boat, or there are some tricks I am missing. I just brought my "new to me" 2002 home this week and started putting up the canvas. Besides the fact that the canvas was obviously all original and I had zippers pulling off in my fingers, but the design at the arch of zippers and snaps was a mess! I am assuming now, after doing it the other way, that the zippers should be done first at the arch and then the snaps? Also you can't have the bimini in place on the other end to accomplish this feat regardless! Do I also assume that the sunshade and back bimini are meant to stay in place and can't be folded out of the way if you enjoy the sun? I personally like the ability to fold my bimini up in a boot and be able to deploy as needed, but I don't' think it can be done on this boat. Has anyone had a different set up of canvas on a 340? Sorry to sound so negative, but my fingers are very sore and I have no grip left after tugging and stretching! Also, another unrelated question. How do you get the coaxil cable secure in the tv antennae up in the little tunnel of the antennae? There is no room to get your fingers in there to secure the connection!
Any suggestions or comments are welcome
Rob

We start in the middle of the arch with the zippers and when we have both side of the arch fastened together we snap the snaps together and finish with the elastic ties on the rear of the back seat. Asked the Captain about your coaxil cable question and his response was I'm thanking God have not had that issue yet as it will be another PITA, sorry:)

Hello 340 Owners!
I am looking at an '03 340DA (the old style, not the SDA) with 8.1s and have a quick question. Were these boats wired for SmartCraft such that a VesselView unit could be installed, or does the wiring and sensors only exist for the analog gauges? Just curious.

Thank you for any insight that can be offered.

That's how we do our aft curtain, too. The bimini should have a boot, and the frame should have velcro straps to hold the pieces together after you remove the pull pins from the verticle stanchion and fold the frame back. Put the boot on the bimini after you unsnap and unzip it from the arch.

If possible, having a step ladder available to attach the sunshade and the bimini makes the job much easier. It's not needed for the aft curtain though.

Thank you, and Britlady also. I wondered what the boot was for as it didn't appear either side needed one, but that makes sense. And yes, I did use a short step ladder on the middle bench to reach the arch snaps.

Further to this conversation, does anyone have a good source for inexpensive, but quality, replacements for canvas? It appears my canvas was original from 2002 which doubled my frustration with it as the snaps were corroded and the zippers were missing the handles and some broke off while trying to zip them shut!

For the antenna cable I use a special needle nose pliers with a bent tip.

Canvas is always tricky. I always START the zippers just start them. Then work my way around snapping and zipping. Forward and aft of the arch the frames have built in relief with little snap holes in the poles. Make sure you start out with them in the up position. It is very important not to zip it all down until you have them all started. Once you have them zipped then release the poles from the up position and pull the down until they snap into place.

Call Great Lakes canvas... Also buy a cockpit cover... I rarely put up the plastic, even new it is a PITA...

Rob your question has me thinking. I've never actually put the boot on the bimini, although I know it's for that. However, if you follow my instructions the booted canvas is just going to fall forward onto the windshield frame and not lay back against the arch. I've never seen the boot in place but the only configuration I can see that works, besides laying on the windshield frame is leaving the vertical stanchions in place and simply unsnapping and unzipping the bimini from the arch and putting the boot on. Essentially the booted canvas would be just above the windshield frame.

Anyone else ever use the boot?

Nowake,

Take a close look at the photo. The boot will cover the forward Bimini and will stay in place with the existing support. Just unzip, unbutton and roll it up before putting the boot on.
