The 300 da do board a little water through the door if I chop the throttle. I have run sevreal boats before I bought mine and they all did it. I don't think it's a big deal as the water goes in the cockpit drain and overboard. I found if I pull the throttle back smooth and pause around 2000-1800 rpm for a second to let the boat settle then pull it back to idle I never get any water over the platform. About the fuel sender you can "slave" in a new sender before fully installing it in the tank to ckeck your guage. It wont hurt anything. Looking at the probe design I think you will have a bad probe like mine. Overall I love this boat and I am extremely pleased.
