We're thinking about doing an overnighter on the boat this weekend. Anyone else have to pop ibuprofen before, during and after sleeping in the V berth?
I want to lay down a memory foam topper to ease the aches and pains; I've read reviews online and it seems that even a 1.5" thick topper makes a big difference.
I'm going to make a Walmart run to see if I can't pick one up but I can't get down to the boat before I head out tomorrow to take measurements.
Does anyone know what the widest port to starboard dimension is in the 260 V berth?
A queen topper is only 60" wide but a King is 76".
I think it is time to contact Sea Ray customer service. Although a suprise to me, that particular hatch may be like the windshield glass assemblies, as in, the parts have to be ordered by Sea Ray but it is a special order for Sea Ray to order them from Taylor Made. Also, if this is the case, you will have to place the order through a Sea Ray dealer which may get complicated since you are in Turkey.
My advice would be to contact Sea ray customer service first. If you find out this is something they can indeed order for you special from TM, through a dealer, then you can start searching for a dealer to order through.
Hello 260 Owners:
I am about to pull the trigger on a 2007 260 Sundancer. Under 100 hours, very clean, mechanicals are all in excellent shape and priced right. The problem is the hull color - Cinnabar. I am having a hard time drinking it pretty and I have tried. If only it were any other color...
Has anyone had their 260 painted and if so, were you happy with the results? I am guessing it's about a $3,000 face lift???
Thanks for any opinions/input.
New 08 260 owner who boats in Moriches Bay, NY...this is a great forum. I have been doin much reading and learning about this models nuances and can't wait to spend the coming weekend on it to really familiarize myself with her!
Since you have a newer model 260DA than I have I am not sure of your actual set-up but here is a picture of my sump box under the step. I don't see that other hose on the side of the box that you mention.
Each of the hoses on the sump box is marked to show what they do. Are yours marked and if so what does that other hose do?

If I were in your shoes I would keep on looking until you get a hull color you like or buy one of those other boats you looked at and put a few dollars into one of them making it look pristine.
Painting a boat would be my last resort. If the boat has bottom paint, keep in mind the current hull color is also under the bottom paint. To do a proper paint job, all of Thru-Hull fittings, Decals, and Emblems need to be removed first. The rub rail should also be removed. At least three or four inches of the bottom paint should be removed off the sides and new bottom paint put on when finished. I would only consider using a paint like Awlgrip and I wouldn't trust just anybody to put it on either. I would want someone familiar with the process.
