Sorry looks like Charlg beat me to it, plus gave a better description. Way to go

Small section of pole  No have not seen that. Never had a need for it.

I wasn't sure if it was a center support for the filler. I guess not. :smt017 As you can tell, I haven't used it much.

Maybe you got an 'extra' there Charlie. I don't have any extra support for my front fillers. (or maybe its to give you a short table? heh)

I wish I had the front bimini! Where we beach it would come in handy for part of the day for sure.

Good one  I was thinking the same thing, almost said it it was for the kiddie table option. :smt043

Tell me more about these filler cushions. I have an '06 240SD

I just looked at fpmarine.com and they have a filler cushion - cheap!

charlg, careful with the front bimini. I had some problems with mine. Check your attachments to the hull for tightness. If you run with it wrapped you can get some pretty scary side to side oscillation that will work it loose. Mine pulled out of the fiberglass during a rough ride (again, not up, but wrapped). As you know, they don't lay down either.

I added straps to mine that come down in front of the windshield and stop the side to side movement. Not exactly pretty, but not too bad and shored the whole system up. I'll take some pics this weekend if you want.

Thanks for the heads up. This week was going to be the first time out with it on the boat.... and it's very windy this week. I better take it off.

You'll notice when you look at it that there is no cross brace to stop the side to side movement. I purchased straps at west marine that match the front straps... then I routed one from each side down in front of the windshield to U connectors screwed into the non-skid (drilled, 5200'ed etc.) Careful of screw lenght so you don't pierce the headliner in the head.

Again, I'll try to remember to get pics this weekend.

anybody Did yours come with the front Bimini or did you add it? Wonder how hard it would be to add it??

Mine came with the boat, but to add one only requires the install of 4 small brackets (similar to the rear bimini brackets) on the front rails. A nice feature too is that is connects by zippers to the rear bimini.

It does come in handy. I used it yesterday.....it was 95+ in Boston. We used it for shade while we had dinner.

I bought used and it came with it. About a $1500 option if I'm not mistaken. Great lakes boat top probably has the whole thing for half that. Should be a pretty easy install in my opinion... despite the fact the dealer messed up the placement of mine.. it should be mounted about 1-2 inches forward of where it is.

I thought they would have some kind of backing where the mounts are attached to the haul  How do you store the bimini when not up???

Chuck,
When the front bimini is not 'up', it looks like the rear bimini. You roll it up, put the cover on it, and it sits upright on the support poles. It also looks to be the same height as the rear....high enough to walk under...approx 6'.

Just picture the rear bimini without the third support pole.

I hope this answers your question. I'll try and take a pic today.

When both are up (in radar) the front is higher than the back bimini. Don't ask me how I know. Oh, and the bimini frames are darn tough! Again, don't ask.

Here is what the front bimini looks like.

the first pic is with it open. The second two, when it's closed.
Done with a camera phone....pics not too good. :smt013

Thanks for the info the pics look good. I guess you can't have it all, just don't seem to like the way it looks on the boat when it is not in use. Sure would be nice if you could hide it :smt089 when you are not using it.

I agree! When I'm not planning on using it, I take it off. As you know, it takes two people to carefully remove a bimini.

I've put enough scratches in the boat trying to do it myself. :smt021

Chuck................you need one of those front biminis to complete your Cruiser-Wanna-Be conversion.

In the winter time with that thing up and with camper canvas covering in place front and back you will have more cockpit room than Frank W has on his 450DA. :smt101
