Chuck................you need one of those front biminis to complete your Cruiser-Wanna-Be conversion.

In the winter time with that thing up and with camper canvas covering in place front and back you will have more cockpit room than Frank W has on his 450DA. :smt101

Hey I was going to do Charlq idea. That way I could have screen front porch  :smt043

It is a bit cumbersome, but we use the heck out of it when it gets 95+. WIth the rear bimini, you are lucky to find a single spot on the boat in the shade... with both up you get a lot more coverage.

It's a real pain the arse to take on and off and is a minimum 2 person job... then I have to walk it a few hundred yards to a car it won't fit on. It's a big piece of equipment.

Anything new with fellow 240 SD owners?

I would like to see this thread continue.

Nothing from me still waiting on my boat (1.5 months now to do airvoids, non-skid, bildge pump, 20hr service)

They have already set my bill to $0 but now I think they owe me a tank of gas.

Plans: Mounted VHF ICOM IC-M504 w/ ICOM COMMANDMICIII and Shakspere 8' antenna all connected to GPS, Flag Pole mount, Replace existing Ancor and get 2nd acnchor both Fortress FX7's with chain and rope and bag for 2nd anchor for storage.

Possible Plans: add a grill

DIY projects are half the fun of boating.

Well worth the investment. :smt038 Last weekend while my wife was at the wheel driving down the Charles River, I was up front cooking up some grub. Something about boating......it seems to make you hungry....and THIRSTY! :smt043 :smt043

Well I've been throwing the canvas back, enjoying a drink at the helm a few evenings... listening to Sirius.... wishing I could get on the water! :smt009

The admiral really liked the location of your grill setup charlg.. and that's a first! So I'm looking forward to doing that.

Because I was so jealous of you new SD owners, I bought the stainless cup holders....all 8 of them. It's amazing what a difference it makes. The white ones were so dirty looking.

I'm sure that I am the only one that will notice them too......but hey, I like them.

Morph and L&L,
Sorry to hear that you are both sidelined. That was me the first month of the season. I hope you both get back out soon.

Stainless cup holders are a great upgrade. when I replaced mine on my 240SD I felt like I had a new boat........................almost. :smt043

That's funny mine came with stainless but then my wife bought these bright yellow coozies that fit down in them to keep your beveage insulated so they get covered up.

Sound like the 240s are doing good. MS Judy and crew are in FL right now. Have a great time on the ICW  Yes pictures will be posted on our return. Only things done lately to MS Judy is upgrade the flags, Upgraded new stern anchor with 200' of rope.

... bought 2 sets of skis (one is a kids traier set) and a tube. Plus the accessories.

Can't wait for the weekend!

OK... tell me more about this.... is this more than the 'paint' that is on my outdrive already? Is this for when your boat is kept extended periods in the water to prevent growth.. even in fresh water? My skeg has some worn off (umm.. ok.. who knew that the channel was that shallow in that spot?) Do I need to promptly get that re-painted?

i'm going to bump this back up to the top...

and another reason is because I've decided to rent a slip for a couple of months. I'll just be leaving her in the water the whole time period. We currently only have one private ramp open but it is a several miles off. It doesn't look as if the corp will be able to get any of the ramps cleared very soon and our neighborhood ramp is going to take awhile to get cleared as well (the couple of us that maintain it). So.. paint.. or not worry about it right now?

If it is just your skeg, I would sand down, zinc chromate it and hit it w/ the merc phantom black. Should be fine for a few months. If when you take it out there are any signs of corrosion or major growth problems I would sand it all down zinc chromate the whole thing and then interlux it.

It isn't as pretty, but is necessary in our neck of the woods on BIIIs. I after a couple seasons of redoing the phantom black, I decided to interlux.

Fresh Water System

Hey all, new boat owner. Just bought a 96 240 Sundeck. Have an issue with the fresh water - only get enough pressure to operate for a few seconds before shutting off. Any suggestions on what the problem may be? Have not had a chance to explore, so location of filters of pumps would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome!

I'm not sure. Post a new topic, so the rest of the board can help.

A lot of knowledgeable people here.

Sundeck Pricing

Wow. The 240 is 55k (w/o any options), the 260 is 62k and the 270 is 75k. There isn't much difference between these three boats! Who would pay an extra 7k for two feet? There isn't that much more storage, the size of the head is the same, capacity is still 12 people. Not really worth it, if you ask me.

I guess there is a reason that the 240 is the best selling one of the lot.

At my local dealer the 240 SD's sticker is over $71,000!!!!

If you look at the specs, you'll also see that the 240, 260, and 270 are all 26' 4" overall. I'm not sure what the major differences are??
