Sounds good…. Fell off my bar stoolI sure picked a crappy day, 38 degrees, hard rain with sleet and 30mph winds. Of course as soon as I was finished the sun came out and the temp rose to a wappin’ 42
That has to be frustrating knowing you just stored your boat and there's an engine problem you can't get to. That would drive me nuts over the winter. As Kramer said “I am out”. Temps dropped last few days. Today was 39 degrees and rain. Yesterday there was sleet/hail. Day before was in the 60s. Stayed on the boat last night and the heat ran most of the night. Well this year I decided to use the compressor to blow out all the water lines instead of flooding with pink AF. Including the AC by back blowing from the outlet. Hopefully I did it right!
Had some drama going from the slip to the fuel dock for the last pump out. Port engine idling lumpy and stalled leaving the slip. Would start but not idle without stalling. Luckily it wasn’t windy so was able to get to the dock then to the ramp on one engine. I am overdue for plugs caps and rotors but that will wait for spring. Sad day. Winter is too long. We decided to haul the boat last week before the temperatures took a dip. I asked Greg if he could fit me in early instead of the 21st ….and out we came. Hope to see you over the winter Brent.Bruce, we will be put in the building on Friday afternoon.
I know it’s just a simple issue. I am two years overdue on cap rotor and plugs. It ran like a top all summer so not concerned. That has to be frustrating knowing you just stored your boat and there's an engine problem you can't get to. That would drive me nuts over the winter.
never understood why this is something boat owners do so often when was the last time you did that to a car and there conditions are a thousand times worse under the hood.I know it’s just a simple issue. I am two years overdue on cap rotor and plugs. It ran like a top all summer so not concerned.
Because stuff that sits goes bad. That's why hot rods and old cars go through that stuff all the time.never understood why this is something boat owners do so often when was the last time you did that to a car and there conditions are a thousand times worse under the hood.
No idea, but I expect to find the terminals and rotor tip burned and worn. I replaced them last in 2012 or 2013, so this will be 10 years. If I remember I will take pictures and post them. Did the wires at that time too. Price on Amazon for 2 rotor/cap kits was CAD$140, so about US $100. I have heard that the carbed 454s are hard on plugs. I have replaced them once in the past and will this time too. Can't recall when last. I already have a set. I have owned the boat since 2009.never understood why this is something boat owners do so often when was the last time you did that to a car and there conditions are a thousand times worse under the hood.
After 3 miserable days the next 4 look good. I was by the marina this morning and most boats are out now.Ok……now I quit……

Basically sit vacant. Although my marina has in/out rack storage inside.I'm curious, what are these massive buildings used for during the summer when all the boats are in the water?
Car storage for boaters and golf cart storage. They also have events and movies on themI'm curious, what are these massive buildings used for during the summer when all the boats are in the water?
