2022 "Un" Splash pics.

I hate to wish my life away but I wish it was late March right now.

When I hit 60 I stopped saying I hate winter. I figured I better find a way to enjoy it all.

One thing I noticed about you Northerners is the time you have during the winter to do hobbies/projects. I see a lot of your toys are in tip-top condition because of the down time you have to care for them.

Time for the winter nap.....

In the slip year 'round for me. Have never been far enough north to utilize storage. Good thing I think, is that it allows you to do some nice things to them over the winter instead of a week ot two haul out and hull job every few years.
DIY yards are hard to find around here, that's the holdup on thrusters, scheduling and availability.
Opportunity for some "extra" TLC other than topside work and monthly dives.

Hopefully the boat can get in over there. I heard it's really shallow. The lake is down more than a foot over the last couple of weeks.
Its SHALLOW! Made it in and out but id be real careful. Felt like I bonked something on the way out but no marks on the props. Prolly drug the skeg over a log

It has it’s advantages. Besides the extra work time, most change lifestyles/hobbies in the winter. Skiing, snowmobiles, etc.
For us it’s going south for 3-4 months (retired) we discovered Your wonderful city when we traveled on our boat and last March we spent two weeks on Tybee Island at Rivers End RV, on our way north so we could visit Savanna again, for like the fourth time. We don’t miss the boat during the winter, but by spring we are chomping at the bit to get it back in the water. Renewed interest.
P.S.That’s some kind of St Patty’s Day party you all throw down there.

Love Tybee Island, or at least the first part as you enter, I guess that's the West side. We stay on the South Channel Savannah River close to the Crab Shack. Gets a little commercially/seedy as you get close to the ocean.

There's something like 250 slips where I am. Now when I'm there in the morning this month, I might see 3 or 4 other guys taking their boats out. Not me, I'm all in until they make us haul by end of October.

I've seen snowflakes a couple times in the last two weeks...boats going into the shed tomorrow morning.
Yeah, frost several mornings and lake effect rain. Those lake effect rain clouds just make it look like boating is done. Several friends that aren’t hunters head south mid October for the winter.

Dropped my 380 off today and it will be pulled this week for winter storage. Damn was such a nice day out on the lake, hated to do it, but unfortunately we know what’s coming. Come on spring 2023. Now if fuel doesn’t go to $9.00 a gallon we’ll be good to go.
