2008 44 Sedan Bridge Purchase

John

Great pic. I can tell you haven't loaded all your stuff or fuel and water on her yet....she's sitting way too high in the water. Have fun.

I was wondering how much too much bottom paint we would have - coming from fresh to salt, she'll sit higher. We have 1/2 gas, full water, and the dinghy on board right now.

JOhn...what size TV is on the bridge? What model? Do you have connected to DVD player?

Ok, I thought I replied to this once, but it's not there now. So, if two show up.... It is a Samsung 24" LED HDTV. Yes, it will have the main DVD player downstairs hooked to it, an HD DVR with Direct TV HDTV, cable, and the Glomex for off-the-air HDTV.

Holy cow! Did you need to get a special permit for that thing?

Let me see where I put that - Oh, here it is:

God, I hope not! (But, who knows?)

From my Electronics Specialist just now:

Looks like you spent the value of your 340 on all those upgrades on the new one!!!

That Satellite dome is so high and big I wonder if you will need a strobe light on it for low flying aircraft!!:smt043:smt043

Holy crap John. She's coming together nicely but will you have to run the genny full time to allow everything to work?

I actually started this project with the idea in mind that everything would be 12V DC (entertainment wise, like the 340). The sat dish control unit is AC - immediate dead end, thank God. I was having one heck of a time finding big 12V TVs, DVRs... The market just doesn't support these items. So, yes, the genny or dock power will be required to run the entertainment center - just like the boat was designed. The good thing is that since it's diesel, that shouldn't be any problem at all. I ran the genny for about a 1/2 hour this evening and loaded it up - they don't struggle like gas genny's. You can hardly tell that any additional items are on.

Ditto here! Last year at Miami Boat show I was on 2008 44 Sedan Bridge and decided that it could be next boat! What a beauty!

By the way guys, thank you for your positive comments. These have been a tough 6 months leading up to this point. We have actually owned the boat for 7 weeks now. We want to take it to its new home and get away from the service dept. I'm sure there will still be some issues, but we're getting closer.

Got a visit from the one and only Frank W today. We went right into the engine room where I learned that my boat has been modified with new fuel lines and brackets where required to avoid cracks and leaks. That's a good thing. They do, however, need a little paint on these items.

The bridge A/C is up and running. 3/4 major items complete - swim platform, underwater lights, and bridge A/C. The sat system with all of the HDTV stuff has yet to be completed. Then, everything will have to be all buttoned up. Where do all those screws go? We should be ready to cruise Monday - I have to work this weekend - again. I have two huge weekends off in May!

Well you're dialed in. A great boat. Again congrats and enjoy.

John,
Great looking boat. You will love the sedan bridge once you get use to it.
Have a Great summer breaking her in.

John, We need a few more pics. It has been raining around here for a month!

I think John got his inspiration for the satellite dish from spending all those years in the military.
