Anybody know if I can order a new bow cover? A few of the snaps are pulling through. Or is it easier to get it repaired? I haven't looked into it yet.

Check with Great Lakes Boat Tops...They are the OEM manufacturer of the canvas for our SR's...You can always have a local shop make you up one too.
Sweet job on the GPS install too:thumbsup:

LOOKS GREAT CT! Nice clean install. I like that it is small enough to fit into a blank spot on the instrument panel.

Re: Smart tabs

One of my smart tab actuators failed on my first trip out this year. I called Nauticus, Inc. and they are sending me a new one, no questions asked. The Smart Tabs have been my best addition to my boat yet and now I feel even better about my decision because of their excellent customer service.

Re: 200 Sundeck Thread- (dumb newby questions)

Hi all --

Brand new boat owner here - purchased an '05 200SD this weekend on a 'whim'. I was actually trying to buy a pontoon boat, stopped at a marina to see if they had any --- all they had was the 200SD for sale. Took it for a quick spin and bought it.

Anyhoo...I'm a novice boater, my only experience is pontoon rentals and I have a couple of JetSkis (those were last month's 'whim' purchase).

I'm struggling to figure out how to get this boat up and running off the line. I'm trying to figure out the correct sequencing of throttle and trim to get this thing going. It seems that once I get it moving, I'm OK in terms of getting it at a good 26-32 mph cruise, but it just seems like a real dog getting there. Is it me, or the boat?

Anyone have any pointers for me on how to get up to speed correctly? The boat seems to be completely stock and in good condition -- has the 4.3 / 220 engine and 165 hours on it.

Thanks in advance.

Jeff,

check out this link: http://clubsearay.com/forum/showpost.php?p=251310&postcount=89

I put smart tabs on my boat (I have the exact same boat as you) and it was the best thing I ever did for my boat. I really noticed a difference in a couple of things:

1. The boat planed MUCH faster at slower speeds
2. The boat planed a lot easier with more people in the boat
3. The tabs helped with a modest chop in the water (smoothed it out)
4. helped on gas (noticeably)

Chris -

Sounds good, although I don't think I'm going to personally drill holes in the bottom of my boat on purpose (!) . I think I'll ask the marina if that's something they would install for me. Is there a particular brand I should ask for?

I spoke with Chuck yesterday - he thinks a big part of my problem is that the bottom of the hull is dirty as I don't think the boat has been out of water since new.

After the 4th, I hope to have the marina pull the boat out, clean the bottom and hopefully have them install the tabs.

Thanks for the info.

Jeff, they are called Nauticus Smart Tabs. Call them up and make sure you get the ones you need for your boat as they are VERY helpful and more than willing to help. Cleaning the hull can make a difference but these will help when your boat is loaded down for sure.

Good luck Jeff and let us know how things turn out.

Could anyone with their boat handy tell me approximately how long the front straps are on the bimini top. Mine dried out and broke and I want to order new ones, but my boat is about 60 miles away right now.

Reply here or email me at sean@seanford.com.

Thanks,

Sean

I lost the top plastic tread for the aft swim ladder today on my 2008 200SD. Does anyone know who makes the ladder? Thanks.

Just purchased a 2010 Sundeck 200 this past weekend. Boy, what a well kept secret. Sea Ray doesn't even know about it - At least according to their website. Trying to get a spec sheet on it to at least find out what the standard equipment is. The Marina went over the basics but I am sure not everything. Anyway, can anyone tell me if the radio comes with an auxillary port or an IPOD adapter? Boat is at the Marina and they are storing it till Spring.

Thanks

Doesn't look like much action on this thread anymore, but I'll post this hoping that someone might have an idea...
I've had my 2006 200SD since new. It's got just over 100 hours now, and the steering has too much slack. I can move the wheel about 4 inches before the slack is taken up. The steering is not stiff, and the power steering fluid is at the correct level.
I had a repair service tell me that the cable & rack need to be replaced at a cost (with labor) of over $900. Is there any way to adjust the slack out, or will I just have to bite the bullet and have it replaced? Anyone know?
Thanks!:wow:

WOW that sounds a little steep. Me personally I'd check the linkages at both ends first and see it there is anything you could swap easy. The Rack is a high dollar part but I'd buy it on line first and depending on your mechanical skill you swap it out.

Yeah we 200DS owners gotta get busy the bigger SR's threads are cooking, but then they probably have more to attend to.

It tends to be kind of a slow time for me and my boat as it gets really hard to talk about the boat when there is snow up to my chin and I could drive both my truck and my boat "ON" the water. I agree, I would look for the parts online and do it yourself if you can or get the parts online then call around and check labor times and prices and have them install.

Good luck,
Chris

I've looked online, and haven't been able to find any service manuals for the boat. I'd probably be willing to do the job myself if I had a better idea of what is involved.
I've always done all my own maintenance on my motorcycles, and I do the normal annual maintenance on the motor and outdrive. I just don't want to get into a project without knowing exactly what is involved.
I agree it sounded really expensive...

Ocean LED's A6's on the way Finally broke the bank and ordered them in blue. I cant wait to install them. Its gonna be a great season! Also looking at adding a MBQuarts Marine Amp for a little more kick in the 'ol Clarion system.
