Fellas,

Love the thread. Just purchased my first Sea Ray (2008 200 Sundeck) and can't wait to get it in the water. I love what some of you did with your boats and will be sure to keep up with updates. I'm looking to find the measurements of the table pedestal. I can't seem to find it online and there are tons of choices on overtons / bass pro / ect. Does anyone know what i need? Thanks for the help.

What measurements are you looking for? The mount, height or diameter of the cocktail table?

Just looking for the measurements of the pedestal (height and diameter of both ends). I have the table, just missing the post. Thanks for helping.

Anybody keep their sundeck in the water for the summer (wet slip)? I just bought a wet slip for the summer but I'm a little worried about blistering and/or any damage to my hull. I plan on pulling her out a few times per month to clean the hull. Is this enough? Can anyone recommend a cleaning and protective product? Thanks

Had Bennett Trim tabs installed last week. Now I need weather in the 70's to try how they work.

Hi Hardtimes,

Yes I keep mine in all summer long, BUT I have to bottom paint it. Yeah not my favorite part of boating but it keeps her perfect. I'm sliped in "brackish water" which is very tidal and both fresh and salt depending on the tide. I use Petit products, just a black bottom paint its runs about 100-150 depending on the flavor. I'm 4 years deep on my 2005 and she is still fine.

Thanks for the reply. I'm keeping my boat in for the summer but just started reading about blistering and the negatives of keeping a boat in the water. I'm not thrilled about bottom paint but it may be my only option. When did you decide to bottom paint? And, are there any cleaners or protective applications I can use instead. As stated before, I plan to pull her out a few times per month to clean, wax, and let the hull dry. Also, I heard bottom paint reduces the value. How true is this? Thanks again

it all depends on the water, but If you really do pull it out twice a month vigilantly you might be able to keep up with it. You wont need to wax the bottom that much, just give it a real good one the first time and after each deep cleaning. That should be plenty. I have heard the same thing but, quite honestly if you need to bottom paint it odds are so does everyone else. If you are looking to keep it for a long time I'd say paint it. If your gonna blow it out in a couple years then dont, some fresh water guys frown on bottom paint. But then they really dont get a feel for the "REAL WATER" LOL just kidding guys

I missed this. I will measure the post for the cocktail table this weekend and update the thread.

Ctsearay,

You're right!!! I pulled my boat out (1 month) to discover more scum than I have elbow grease. I tried all the typical stuff but nothing works....help!!!! YouTube sold me on this stuff called Jjvs, im a sucker for videos, hope it works. I'm going to try a few more applications, but if i dont get good results, I'm investing in bottom paint. I guess this is the price you pay with slipping your boat???

Hi all,
Looking hard at 05 200 sundeck with 4.3. I had an 04 with 5.0 under contract and lost it last week (won't get into details) so, needless to say we were very dissapointed. I have since found an 05 with 4.3 mpi but am concerned about not having as much punch with the v6. Can some chime in on real world experiences with the v6? I don't anticipate lots of deepwater single ski starts (I'm getting too old for that) but we would be doing some tubing wakeboarding witha few friends on board. Other than that it would mostly only be two or three people on board.

Would I be better served in waiting for another with a 5L?

Thanks in advance for your help and experiences.

Hey DD,

Well I have a 4.3 and let me tell you 85% of the time is great, I can run the better part of a weekend on a tank of fuel and we regularly do some tubing and kneeboarding. Usually its just 3 of us on it and its fine. We did do some ski-ing and that's when I put the tabs on and it makes a big difference. I'm all about more power and a bigger motor I would have made the same choice of a V6 if I had both to choose from. BUT the 4.3 is a lot more motor than I thought. I can pull 43-44 top speed and pretty economical.

Dont base your final decision on my input I just wanted to chime in and let you know my findings with my iron duke 4.3

Good luck Let us know what you wind up doing.

CT,

Thanks for the info. I appreciate all the input I can get at this point. I guess I'm just a little ticked about the deal that didn't go thru on the 5.0:smt013.

I was thinking about the use of tabs if needed and changing props if necessary. Have you tried any different props? What would you say is the major difference before/after tabs?If I do decide to slalom ski again (deep water start) I'm used to a long tug of war (previous boat had 75 hp merc) that I used to ski behind.

Thanks again for your assitance.

DD
