Ahh- be adventurous it looks like only 6-8 footers today. AT least its out of the north and quite a bit different than yesterday.

Not for us!

This morning, we slept in and then got up for a folded bike ride (unfolded). The cat was screaming at us as we left the boat, so, as I went in to get the tire pump, I grabbed a back pack and invented "Cat in a Bag (Pack?)" She/it seemed to love the ride, and I got an occasional back rub. We rode around the whole area to the North. There are a ton of low-rent canal front properties, and a whole bunch of high rent ones too. Lunch with Parents, Cousins, and Friends. Pics to follow. Can't upload anything.

I hope you're finding warmer weather as you head south. I'm down at our place in Gulf Shores today and there are 35 mph north winds and 48 degrees- brrrrrrrrrrrr

That sounds like NE weather. I'm currently in the Keys. Weather today was windy in the low 70's. Tomorrow looks the same but a little cooler.

First, a video from the first 1/2 of yesterday's cruise - click on the video:

John, I'm just curious. Why have you gone to using MPH vs KTS?

PS...posting cruise adventures in February is cruel....

I can't stand the thought of cruising below 25!

Awsome boat, trip, wife, and life John. Cat in the back pack is hilareous!!!!!!!! He/she doesn't try to jump out? Must know he has it good. haha

Thanks. No, she just pokes her head out and looks around. When the vultures are overhead, she ducks back in. How do they know?

John...Could you make a poster of yourself (like I had of Eric Estrada)....You are my new hero and idol......Look foreward to all the posts

This, though you cruise around the NE in your brand new DB? You should take a picture in the mirror and blow it up! I'd buy a copy and put it over my Maverick poster (no, I don't really have one).

And the looping Tom Cruise version of "You've lost the loving feeling" playing over and over while you stare at the poster. When I had the 320DA my dock neighbor's boat was named "Talk to me Goose".

Though kind of hokey, that was an excellent movie.

Today, we experienced an extremely low, winter tide. My parents picked us up for a tour of the are North of here including Hernando Beach. Very cool, remote area. For those who don't understand the landscape here, there are pics which show how shallow the North 1/2 of the West Coast of Fl really is. Generally, you get 1' of water for every mile you head West. I will tell you that the deepest we got on our 160 mile trek was about 80'. Also, the last five miles really is from 5' to zero.

Clear, Cool Morning
Low, Low, Winter Tides
Breakfast
How many lures do you have to lose before...
Hernando Beach
Slow Fishing

The area is also EXTREMELY rocky. Not like being further south in Clearwater. Here you can miss the channel and hit sand. There, you miss the channel and you really are on the HARD!

Great stuff. Thank you.

We're Cruising South right now. Need warm moist climate for sinuses. Anclote Key is to port.
