Well, I'm happy to report that we finally have some beautiful, summery weather here in Cleveland. I've made the most of it down at the boat, and tackled a lighting project that I've been eager to do ever since installing my blue underwater transom lights: adding some blue LED cockpit lighting...
When plugged in to shore-power, my breaker shows that I am getting power (the meter reads 110). Outlets and Fridge work without problem. However, when I was down below putting things away, I noticed my cabin lights getting dimmer and dimmer. Went to the helm and tried my nav and cockpit...
Well, after weeks of cold and rain so far this Spring, we finally got a nice weekend here in Cleveland. As they have been few and far between, I made the most of it and took full advantage of the good weather. Buffed the hull on Friday, installed two new batteries, and other miscellaneous...
Looking to replace my original gauges. Both gas gauges and both engine temp gauges seem to have gone south. At first, I figured probably a bad ground. Didn't seem to be the issue. Checked the sending units, and those also seem functional. Figured new gauges would cross off the next most...
My back hurts. :smt021 Here are the fruits of my labor:
3M rubbing compound (purple bottle), Meguiar's Flagship (3 coats), and some good old fashion elbow grease. Pictures really do not do her justice. I also installed 3 underwater LED lights from Chris at Coastal Night...
Curious to know what your thoughts are when comparing the 30' Weekender to the 34' Express Cruiser. Both platforms seem very comparable - similar cabin and cockpit layouts, engine placement mid-cockpit for better weight distribution, and straight shafts being the major similarities. I have seen...
Anyone here have any experience with Saturn Inflatable Dinghies? Curious to get some feedback. I saw a very sharp 14' Saturn in red (SD430) on my river with a 40 Horse! Looked beautiful and sure moved out too! They seem to be a quality build from my quick, but close inspection. Thoughts and...
I have an opportunity to purchase a trailer for my 30' Weekender, and wanted to see what you guys think. It's a tri-axle aluminum trailer rated at 15,000 lbs. Trailer is about 7-8 years old, and needs a tailight replaced. Aside from that, looks great. Tires are in good shape and the brakes...
I have been looking for a radar arch for my 1985 30' Weekender without much success. I want an OEM Searay arch rather than a tubular one. Can anyone point me in the direction of someone who might be able to help me find one? I really appreciate any assistance.
Thank you!

Well, with Winter coming to a very welcomed end here by the Great Lakes, I am planning my "to-do" list for the season. This is what it looks like thus far:
Bottom coat touch up. Still in good shape from last season's re-paint. Will just be touching up a few small spots.
Tune the carbs. I...
Hello,
I am looking for a brown canvas for a 1985 30' Weekender. Currently have a good bimini with a drop back, but would like to get my hands on a standard cockpit cover (one piece, rather than zippering in from the bimini back). Located in Cleveland, OH.
Thanks!

My 30' Weekender is equipped with two, 75 gallon tanks. My question is to determine if the tanks support only one engine, or both. If they only support one at a time, is there some type of manual switch down below that would divert the tank to the opposite engine?
Thanks in advance.
I'm curious to learn how the other Classic owners maintain their teak. On the 85' Amberjack, I have always scrubbed with a cleaner and then applied teak oil (typically Amazon products). However, I have always been tempted by the deep, rich, wet look of the varnishes (i.e. Seikens - Cetol)...
This is my first boat with straight shafts, and thus my first experience dealing with shaft packings. Can anyone provide me with some basic information or pointers for a first timer?
My port engine appears to be very dry, but the starboard is dripping quite frequently (probably one drip...
It's been difficult getting sleep the past few nights!! On Friday, I will be traveling from Cleveland, OH up to St Clair, MI to take delivery of my new (well, 24 year old, but new to me) 30' Weekender. Arranging for freight and all of the various neuances of taking it from one marina...
