In looking at "Surf" bowriders I noticed that those of similar size and style with Bravo4s have at least 12' more depth than similar Volvo FWD units. I know hull designs effect this but that's a huge difference. Any thoughts? Searay 260 Surf 48" draft!
Thanks!
Hi all,
Haven't posted since we sold our Florida boat several years ago. We tried to buy a house on W. coast of Fl. but it just never worked out. Now that both our kids are married and starting families in Dallas we are strongly considering a move there. Both have expressed their desire for us...
We have decided to sell our '05 460DA. Boat is located in a busy marina in Sarasota, fl. (Marina Jacks). I contacted a local broker via email, who was recommended by several trusted boat owners I know in the same marina. He responded via email that he would be in touch several days ago but I've...
Brother-n-Law has a Fresh-water Cobalt, with Volvo Duoprop, ten years old, 400 hours, well serviced, that developed a "knock with warning lights going off. Shut it down. Towed to dealer. Dealer told him unit had a part that broken off and rattled around inside destroying the entire outdrive...
Just had A/C/ unit replaced with same brand model due to shot coils. Now key pad does not come on. Tech said unit blows cold air but doesn't understand why key pad does not work.
I think they messed up the key pad on the install.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Bob
We were out yesterday on our new to us Sundancer, in Sarasota Bay and low and behold the dolphins were playing in our wake. We had seen this "video" multiple times but is was a fun experience for us. Glorious day, sunshine and 80 degrees...and dolphins. Dinner with friends who are long time...
Just closed on a 2005 460 Sundancer. Beautiful boat. Thanks to everyone on this site that helped me through the process over the last 18 months. A special shout out to (fr8dog) for keeping such a pristine boat and making it such a pleasure to buy! Very smooth, easy process buying from a...
Don't know if anyone saw the 60 Minutes episode last night on the insane amount of trash polluting our oceans. Disgusting and a real threat. Recycling totally unprofitable and no answer in sight. Never thought of myself as a "tree-hugger" but we need to stop this.
Hi,
I'm purchasing a ,05 460 Sundancer from a private individual-owner who resides in Florida . The vessel is located there as well. The vessel has a mortgage as it's only lien. I live in Kansas. How can I be sure the mortgage is satisfied once I transfer the funds to the seller? If the boat...

No, Im not affiliated with them in any way. Just spent an hour roaming around their site and picked up several great tips. Read about surveying 101--it will open your eyes!
We are likely to be moving our boat to the Ft. Myers area. Anyone happy with their yacht management services? Would you like to share your experiences and advice? We will be absentee owners and will need help with all of the usual things including hurricane prep should the need arise.
Thanks,
BOB
Opinions? (year 2000-2004). I like both. I see that the Express Bridge has a shallower deadrise, is a bit wider, typically older and therefore may need to be cautious about the infamous soggy hull issue. That said, I like the interiors, the walk-through bridge, and certainly the prices...
Trying to satisfy my wife: We are looking for an '04-'08 42/44 DB. My wife is set on the cabin sofas colors being the whitest white. I have emailed SR but no answer yet. I suspect they are a bit busy with everything that is going on. Does anyone have SR's name for this color? I would assume that...

Hello purveyors of marine wisdom:
We are getting closer on the purchase of a 40' Sea Ray to be wet docked at the marina of our choice-in the Florida Gulf. Among the variables I am considering is the relative rates of hurricane impacts and storm surges, over five years, for various marinas. I...
