We have decided to sell our '05 460DA. Boat is located in a busy marina in Sarasota, fl. (Marina Jacks). I contacted a local broker via email, who was recommended by several trusted boat owners I know in the same marina. He responded via email that he would be in touch several days ago but I've heard nothing. Should I be concerned? It strikes me that if he is this slow in wanting my business then perhaps I should look elsewhere. Your thoughts?

You'd be crazy not to be concerned. I'd not spend another second considering this broker, personally.

That said, this level of responsiveness (as a buyer) is common in 75+% of the brokers I've engaged in my prior two boat buying experiences...

If you're still developing a list I'd recommend Brian Kemmis w/ Marine Max Fort Meyers 239-222-5907, he's a stand up guy

It boggles my mind these days with all the ways to communicate, email, text, phone, that people can't be bothered to return an inquiry.

So did any of your friends actually use this broker, or just know his name? I would certainly look for other options. But giving him the benefit of the doubt, may he got the covid or something.

That is number one on my pissed off list. If I'm offering them business, and they can't even get back to me in a timely manner, I would move right on down the road. When this guy does manage to get back to you, if he ever does, get the pleasure of telling him you went with someone else because of his lack of response.

This broker is telling you exactly how much effort she intends to put into your sale. I suppose it's better than those who are all handsy up front and then disappear off the face of the earth.

Bob, Sorry you are selling that beautiful boat!

I wonder if these brokers have all done so well this year, that they are no longer "hungry"??

We know Brian - and yes he is!

Hi Carter,
Yes, we are selling this "beautiful boat". Our plan is to buy a "beautiful house" on the west coast of florida-(perhaps next to Mike :)). I appreciate the help and advice from all on this site! Stay healthy!

Those 460's are great boats, in many respects they are a perfect balance of size and performance.
Best of luck to you on the home hunting

Bob,

That broker just did you a huge favor.....and you don't even have to fire him!

Call Brian Kemmis. I have known Brian and his wife for about 20 years. He has been in sales all his working life and got started in the industry here at my home marina in Panama City Beach when it was a privately owned Sea Ray-Whaler dealer. You won't find a nicer guy or a more professional salesman-broker than Brian. A plus is that Brian listens and learns so he won't make up answers.....he is the kind of guy that will go dig out a manual and look up the answer to your questions or call someone he knows to get the information his customers are looking for

Give him my regards when you talk to him................

You and your bride would be great neighbors!!!

I don't know any of the brokers referred above, but I gotta say that a referral like Frank gave you has got to be a golden one.

Before COVID we had a broker who is at your marina come look at the boat (we where looking at getting a Maritimo) he loved the boat said it should move fast and he would send someone to photograph her. It’s December I’m still waiting heehee COVID actually made our decision to spend the money on a house in FLA as well
I wonder if we had the same broker? Hmmm mmmmmm

ps we’re damn close to Fr8dog great place...

Once we are settled we should all have dinner at Shore restaurant-our new favorite place!

My biggest pet peeve....lack of customer service these days! It is pervasive....especially amongst the millennial generation.
