I have found a small water leak coming from the center panel of glass on the front windows of my 400DB. From the outside there is caulking around frame to seal it to the fiberglass, and then clear (silicone?) caulking joining the glass panel to the frame. This clear caulking is covered by a...
I find that I am hunched over and reaching forward for the steering wheel. The seat is all the way down and slide pretty far forward. my steering has tilt but I don't think it will extend. Is there such a thing as an extension for the steering column? Anyone else experience this?
A few weeks ago I purchased the great lakes application for my iPhone. The price had been dropped from $50 to $9.99 so I figured what the hell. In short, this app is amazing for the money! The data in my area (Georgian Bay) is top notch, and the interface is extremely simple. It downloads all...
I am upgrading my windlass to a 1000w unit. Current wiring is 6ga and I should be running 2-4 gauge. Can I use the two 6ga together as one side, and add a single 2ga as the return?
Rope only GOOD needs to be replaced. Got a great deal on a 1000w Quick Antares with 100ft rope,100 3/8 G4 chain. Problem is the existing wire is only 6 gauge. Not a fun cheap or cheap job to replace wire. Online calculators are saying 0/3 gauge for 80 amps over a 40ft run. This seems way too...
We carry our dinghy on the platform so docking has never been an issue. This summer we are planning on dragging the Sea Doo behind (as we always did with our previous 30' boat) as well as have the dinghy on the platform. My only concern is how to back into the slip while towing??!! If my wife...
Check out this website http://seatow.com/fuelfinder/getMarinas.aspx
It allows you to enter the price paid for fuel at specific marinas, for others to see. There seems to be lots of info on marinas in the south, but no one is using it on the Great Lakes. When you are bored at work on Monday...
We will be making our way from Detroit to Georgian Bay in early May. I was told the other day that I was crazy to make this run up Huron that early in the season due to deadheads etc. Is May too early? I realize there is a risk, and extra attention is required, but is this really that bad...
Picked up a new sofa bed for the boat, and Allure vinyl plank floor. We set it up in our living room to see how they lok together.. The dinette and stool cushions are being covered in the same ultra leather. I am very excited to see it come together once the boat goes in.
I am considering new tops from Boatswain Locker. With their winter special it will be $5100 for bimini and side enclosures in Seamark and 40mil strataglass. The snaps are not installed, as you use them for final fitting during install.
Does anyone have any experience with OEM tops on larger...
Anyone ever removed the dinette on a 400DB for reupholstery? Any tips or advice is appreciated. My boat is 4hrs away in strorage and I have to get the parts out this weekend. My time will be limited.
Thanks!!
If any 400DB owners are luck enough to still be boating, could you measure the port side sofa width and depth (wine rack to electric panel)? Mine is sadly tucked away for the winter, and I am looking into ideas for upholstery.
Thanks!
Does anyone have any experience installing a synthetic or laminate hardwood in the salon? I am considering installing as a winter project but would like any input as to brands, look of fake vs real, dog scratches, etc.
Thanks
Dave
Can anyone tell me if the dinette table on a 1996 400DB is supposed to fold down into a bed? It seems like it should, but the table is about 1/2" too wide and I haven't found any extra filler cushons.
Thanks
Jim, I sent you a PM a couple nights ago regarding pricing and compatability on electronics... you there?
Also, I saw that Raymarine was clearing out C120 combo bundles w/600watt sonar for real cheap and also including Navionics chip in the price. Do you have that same deal from RM?
Thanks,
Dave
