Check your cool fuel canister. Is it painted? Mercruiser had a real problem with the painted cool fuel canisters. Seems they painted the inside of the cool fuel canister during production. Causes a bunch of issues with paint particles clogging injectors. Not saying this is your problem, but...
Your ignition system uses current from your battery and your alternator charges the battery. With all the electrical stuff on your boat using this electricity it will cause a very weak power supply to your coil and spark plugs. It will loose RPM's as you said, and the engine will shut down. Can...
If you have a CO detector in your cabin it could be at it's end of life. Had this happen to me 2 years ago and it took me forever to get it figured out. Some of the CO detectors have a generator shut down feature. Just something to look at. Hope you get it repaired soon.
Changing the pitch from 19 to 17 will help you get out of the hole or get on plane quicker, but will decrease your speed. The same applies to a 4 blade prop compared to a 3 blade prop. Great for getting on plane quicker, but lower top end speed. I made the same mistake several years ago. After...
If you have SeaCore or A closed cooling system you are at normal operating temp. Raw water cooled engines run a little higher temp.
Is your engine fuel injected or do you have a carb? If you have fuel injection check the IAC valve. If you have a carb, check your choke setting.
The water flow out the discharge for my A/C will stop when the temp in cabin reaches the set temp. If you have no airflow then you most likely have a problem with blower.
You will have a separate power cable.
i installed a wedge when I installed my radar. The installation of the radar is not bad, just take your time. Plan the cable routing in advance,
Down in the engine compartment. Normally near the transom and could be on either side. My bilge blower is mounted on the port side.
Make sure urge you know the correct size of your hose for bilge blower. 3 or 4 inch. West Marine will be able to help. Remove your old bilge blower and take it...
How low did you set the temp? I have seen this if you try to set temp down real low. I set mine at 70-71.
Low freon level in A/C will also cause this issue.
The two thru hulls on the bottom of your boat are for the generator raw water, and your air conditioning. Open the engine hatch and make sure the 2 sea strainer valves are in the open position. Make sure the boat is in the water before trying to start your generator. You can use the air...
We are all here to help each other, and we all learn a lot from each other. I personally have learned so much from CSR. Glad to hear you have it fixed. You can PM me anytime.
Fuel injected engines do not have a choke. If you engine runs good at higher RPM's and not bogging down, I would rule out fuel filter issues. I still would take a look at you IAC. The IAC is only active at idle, and you could relate it to a choke on a carbureted engine. If your engine runs good...
Fireworks on Saturday night are great. Anchor in front of Portsmouth Naval Hospital. There will be a lot of boats. Plan on arriving early for a good spot to anchor. There will be many drunks operating boats when the fireworks end. I alway wait for about 1 hour after the fireworks end because the...
