I've searched everywhere for a similar issue, and have tried every suggested fix so far and I'm still at a standstill.

Here's the back story.

I've got a 2003 Sundancer 260 with a 6.2 MPI and bravo III. Last season, she was running perfect, until one day she just lost power in the middle of the river and slowed down until the motor completely stalled. It ran like crap until I replaced the fuel filter, then all was well for the remainder of the season. This year, I take her out and it takes a little longer than usual to get on plane. It had been sitting through the winter, so I figured it may just have some old gas or **** on plugs or something. This symptom has become progressively worse. The boat now won't get on plane or rev over 3000 RPMs unless I am on the boat by myself. Even then, it still has trouble getting up. When I'm in neutral revving the motor, it sounds great! It's not until I put a load on it and try to get up on top of the water that it starts to crap out on me.

So far, I've replaced the fuel filter and water/fuel filter. Checked fuel pressure, and its consistently right above 40 PSI under all conditions. I've changed air filter, spark plugs, and distributor cap and rotor, and it is still giving me trouble. I'm not quite sure where to turn, and I don't have a diagnostic tool to read engine computer data. I will say this, it does seem like it is choking out a little if you give it more throttle. Almost like it is running lean or rich.

In addition, I've run the boat with the engine hatch open to bring it fresh air in the instance exhaust manifolds were leaking. Didn't make a difference.

help would be much appreciated!

Try running on an outboard gas tank for testing. May be a tank issue, a venting issue, anti-syphon valve or clogged injectors

I agree. Start with some easy things and try to eliminate some variables - namely everything on the upstream side of the filter - or even plug in downstream of the filter.

Do you have the spin-on style filter?

I would also drain/pull some fuel from the tank and into a clear, glass container (spaghetti jar). It would be good to see the condition of the glass.

You didn't mention if it was "sitting" in the water or on the hard. What's the condition of the hull bottom... although this is a long shot based on your mentioning that the initial filter change made things better. On that note, have you tried changing the filter again?

Had same problem with my 7.4 MPIs..ended up being the high pressure pump filter in the vapor canister.....was real dirty. Pulled vapor canister apart, flushed the tank and the filter on the bottom of the pump was dirty. Carb cleaner took care of that....took her out afterward....no power loss......

I haven't changed the plug wires. I HAVE however changed the fuel filter again since the initial issue. I've changed both the inline filter and spin on filter twice now. The hull is pretty good. When the issue first started happening, I had the boat at a stack and stow about an hour from home, but I brought the boat closer to home so I could tinker with it. It's now sitting in fresh water. And since I've drained and filled the tank a few times, I was kind of ruling out fuel, but I'll still check.

Hello I am having the same problem. Tonight I am going to change oil pressure switch was told that boat is in limp mode to protect self I will let you know how it turns out. has your alarm been beeping for a code. Because my oil gauge is all over the place. last year now its worse but idles and runs ok

Check your cool fuel canister. Is it painted? Mercruiser had a real problem with the painted cool fuel canisters. Seems they painted the inside of the cool fuel canister during production. Causes a bunch of issues with paint particles clogging injectors. Not saying this is your problem, but worth a look. Normal fuel pressure,is 43 psi, but do not see an issue with 40 psi.
