Greetings to all,
After just replacing the Idle Air Controller this week on my Port Engine, I am wondering what the average life of this part is? My Starboard engine had what I will call a "soft" IAC fail about six months ago (~130Hrs). By "Soft" I mean the Smartcraft alarm picked it up, but...
All is well - the system tested out okay this afternoon. As I said above - I wasn't sure how it was wired up. Turns out it was wired into a GFCI circuit I was not previously aware of. Once I reset that circuit - I was able to test it easily.
Using a freeze spray - I sprayed it onto the...
You are the Man! This ranks right up there w/ the "secret compartment." I've had this boat for seven months and never knew there was an outlet in the cabinet in the head - let alone that it was a GFCI outlet controlling other outlets. As soon as I opened the cabinet - the red light was...
Great - Thx for the validation that I should hear the fan right away. It is a 2004 model heater and does not have the push button test. I'll go back to testing this weekend to see if I can confirm operation. I'll follow up w/ what I find.
Thx!
Electrical question . . .
I've had this boat for 7 months now and am trying to get the last of the punch list knocked out. Something I have neglected is figuring out an issue I have w/ the 110 AC outlets. The outlet in the cockpit - down beside the driver seat in particular. How do I get...
Greetings,
This will be my first winter w/ this boat. The previous owner had a BoatSafe 750 Watt Heater permanently installed in the engine room. I am trying to test it to confirm it is working okay for the winter. One challenge I have is that I do not know how it is wired up. I can only...
The name and hailing port of a recreational vessel must be marked together on some clearly visible exterior part of the hull. The vessel name of a commercial vessel must also be marked on the port and starboard bow and the vessel name and the hailing port must also be marked on the stern. All...
Go to searay.com and go to the Model archives - YOU can pull up the brochure pics for all the old boats.

Here is a random electronics question . . .
Has anyone had any issues w/their stock Clarion remote. I am talking about the wired remote mounted on the lower left of the dash in the cockpit. My volume control buttons do not work - although every other button works fine. Before I replace the...
Pretty much. The restaurant - which is a good one - is the building all the way out on the tip of the 15th St finger. If you pull up Google Maps Satellite view - the restaurant is the building all the way on the end. As you work you way back west, and look on the south side of the street, the...
Wow - I am no where near there - but I can answer the question :-) I grew up in FLL and starting boating at about 14. As soon as I turned 16 - I was out on my own. My Dad always had boats and we trailered them - so I know most of the ramps in the area.
I would say the City ramp at SE...
When you say "check engine alarm" - what is the tone pattern? Is it a continuous tone - or is it two beeps every minute? Different tones mean different things.
For a constant tone alarm - the most likely candidate is low outdrive fluid - check the reservoir on the front of the engine. Other...
Back on the Lake this spring after a few years off. Tied up at Bald Ridge. Was able to be out all weekend over Memorial day. It was crazy busy - but the weather was awesome. Hope to see you all out on the water.
Good Day Gents,
Wonderful thread you have going here - enjoyed reading every bit of it. Allow me to introduce myself - Old-Thirty-Three here. New (to me) 280 Sundancer owner as of April 1st. Enjoying every minute on the boat. Hope to hang out here and start offering help where I can.
