Dale ... our WOT is 4800 rpm. I don't know the speed as we have never been past 4400. The speed at 4000 rpm is between 32 and 33 mph. Brian

Sorry for the delayed response. Our 340 is equipped with merc 496 mags c/w brovo 3 legs, and seems to run fine at 4,000 rpm. We have tried lower rpm’s but the boat handles better at 4K. Brian

340 Sea Ray Sundancer Captains ... we returned from a recent trip in heavy seas (about 60 miles) and at 4000 rpm and we were burning 27 gals per hour. Does this sound reasonable to you? about 0.9 miles per gal. Brian

Has anyone extended the aft bed in a 340 DA? Our aft bed is comparable to a Twin bed, but we would like to have a Queen size bed. Currently, the slide out bed buts against the central vac storage closet, but if it could be made to go over the top of the closet, you could gain an additional 24...

Stod ... we are boating in Northern Canada on the Great Slave Lake. We have a small business that does canvas work, but the size of my job is beyond their capabilities. Travel/transport is not an issue as we live about two miles from the boat launch. Weather conditions like snow and cold are...

Does anyone know where of if you can purchase a boat cover for a 2005, 340 Sundancer? Our shrink wrapping costs are in the $1,300.00 range and I think a canvas cover would be more cost effective over time. Any info would be most appreciated. Thanks, Brian

I agree with Ciao Bella. We are not overlly concerned about the cost of gas, but want to ensure that we have enough to get home as well. Brian

This is our first season with our 2005 340 Sundancer and we are looking at gas consumption as well. Our anchorage is 240 miles round trip and the boat holds 200 gallons (closest gas is 120 miles). We are carrying a 12 ft Zebec tender c/w a 9.8 kicker, and are packed for 10 days. Any advise on...

Regarding battery life, how long do you folks run your generators to keep your batteries charged? This is our first season with our 340 and a generator and we usually stay on the lake for 10-day intervals.
