    Engine temperature difference

Last weekend we had a taste of spring so I took the boat out. My port engine didn't warm up nearly as fast as the starboard engine. So I used my handy smart craft gauges to see the water pressure - to my surprise the cooler engine had the lower pressure. I usually think the worst so I just...

    It snowed in Georgia

I was in Atlanta during this. Atlanta did not send the salt trucks out until 6am the morning AFTER the storm. In Knoxville and I'm sure other parts, the roads are often pretreated. This make a huge difference. In Atlanta, they were too cheap to put salt solution out early. - What if it didn't...

not happy, just visited boat....lake has frozen around hull!

Free - just in time for round . . .3 or 4 I've lost count. Looks like us guys in the East are missing out on the whole global warming thing and are in store for another nonexistent summer.

    Battery/Electrical issue

yeah - that too - hahahah. Good thing I didn't wire the boat - hahaha - it would sink . . . but the dang radio stations would be saved. Mine actually has the after market chartploter also - not sure why - probably was easier for someone.

    Battery/Electrical issue

I would just trace out all wires leaving the battery. Everything should go to the battery switch except for maybe a single wire to the radio for memory. Maybe someone did a rewire and connected it direct for a reason.

1 Beep per second "Check Engine"

Looking like its the oil pressure switch. I didn't know there are two sensors, one for the gauges and one for the computer.

1 Beep per second "Check Engine"

Well, looks like no one has every heard of the 1bp/sec alarm on here either. I may have to buy the diagnostic tool myself so that I can keep it hooked up until it fails.

1 Beep per second "Check Engine"

First, the boat is a 2005 280 Sundancer with the 4.3. I’m having a very hard time finding this issue. About every 2 or 3 times taking the boat out, after anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes of running I get a Check Engine alarm. This is not a normal alarm of 2 bps every minute , this is a 1 beep per...

"check engine" with single beep per second

UPDATE, OK - gave up called the dealer. Ran the code, low water pressure. Seams my (former) mechanic didn't know how to replace an impeller. The gasket blew out. All is well now . .. summer is saved . . . . if it ever stops raining. We in Knoxville have a years rainfall total in June . . . and...

"check engine" with single beep per second

Thanks - good to know. I think I'm goign down to the boat today to make sure the hoses from the outdrive are all clean. This all started on a day that the lake was "crappy". But - no its not on a lift and its a new impeller. I'm thinking if water pressure will ause the alarm, its blockage someplace.

"check engine" with single beep per second

Its now happened 3 times, all after the engine has run for 15 min or more. All the sudden I get a "check engine" with the single beep per sec (not the normal 2 beep per sec of IAC). The boat is a 2005 280 dancer with twin 4.3's. When the beep happens I check all the critical stuff, oil...

Man dies while launching personal watercraft. Be careful!

I think the "pop" was him probably falling and striking his head, then he fell in the water and drown.

    Single beep Alarm ??

This has happened twice to me now. I take the boat for a good cruise - all's well. Then After a while of sitting, I get ready to return and I get a single beep alarm ever second (maybe more often - but its a single beep at a time. Not the normal 2 beep of IAC). I get the beep even before I start...

    Rainy weather

Its pretty much the same here in Knoxville. But I've lived here for awhile and can tell you this is not normal. We are almost at our yearly rain total in May . . . I have my sunglasses on ebay. But I was thinking about my poor marina, this time last year I had already dropped $500 on gas ...

    LEDs

Most LED modules you can buy to replace standard bulbs have built in switching regulators. This keeps the light intensity constant over the wide range of voltages (11 - 14) typical. While LEDs are easy to dim, in a switching module you do have to have access to the internal switching regulator's...

Finally spent a weekend on the water

Well this just sucks that you guys get to enjoy your boats - by this time last year we were able to get our boats out - but this global warming has us about 20 degrees below normal for the past 2 months. BTW - very nice place for the chart plotter . . best I've seen on a 280. I'll head to the...
