First, the boat is a 2005 280 Sundancer with the 4.3.

I’m having a very hard time finding this issue. About every 2 or 3 times taking the boat out, after anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes of running I get a Check Engine alarm. This is not a normal alarm of 2 bps every minute , this is a 1 beep per second (maybe even 2 beeps per second). All vitals look good even outdrive fluid is fine. I had the local dealer come out and look, they said it was low water pressure and replaced the impeller. All seemed well until a few times later – then the same alarm. I called the dealer back and they have spent a significant amount of time trying to get the error. I did find a thread on another site where someone had this issue and it took hours hooked up to the computer to finally see a fault on an injector. I thought of just changing all the injectors . . . then I found the price . . . sooo has anyone ever heard of a bad injector causing a 1 bp/sec alarm. If so, I’ll need to find a way to test the injectors. Are there other faults that could be causing a 1 bp/second alarm?

Well, looks like no one has every heard of the 1bp/sec alarm on here either. I may have to buy the diagnostic tool myself so that I can keep it hooked up until it fails.

The tool is a handy thing to have. $400 I think is worth it. If I had to guess, I would say faulty water pressure sensor. More common than a bad injector

I had the same alarm. After one yard spent over a month and not finding anything I hired a different mechanic. In a couple minutes he found it was a disconnected knock sensor! Problem solved.

"they said it was low water pressure and replaced the impeller. All seemed well until a few times later –" Did this actually fix the issue for awhile? If so perhaps you may have a water hose which is collapsing when water is being pumped through it, lowering you water pressure. So it worked for a while with the new impeller until the new impeller possibly wore down some. I have encountered folks here around salt water who have boats which do not have strainers, thus barnacles and other items end up growing in the water line/hoses,, reducing water flow and collapsing the hose. I see you are in Knoxville, so you would not have to worry about barnacles, but you could still have a weakened hose. It is just a thought? Good luck!

Polaris, please post or PM me that mechanic's number. I have one that is pretty good, but he gets busy sometimes. I could always use a spare.

Looking like its the oil pressure switch. I didn't know there are two sensors, one for the gauges and one for the computer.

Skibum - can you forward me his name and number. I too have a good one but getting him when I need him is tough sometimes.
thanks
