340 SUNDANCER THREAD

no just make sure all your 120 voit switches are on, also check there is a metal ring around the end of the vac hose when you stick it in the vac outlet that what turns it on

If the vacuum is rarely used, the metal ring, or the two spring loaded electrical contacts in the receptacle, can get a coating of corrosion on them, rendering the vacuum inoperable. Clean the metal ring on the hose, and then (with the power off), clean the two contacts in the receptacle. Turn the power back on, and plug it in - it'll work.

Has anyone replaced (upgraded) their Raymarine chartplotter?
(forgot the model s72 I think?)
Do you need new special wiring if you use anything other than Raymarine?
I'm mainly looking for a larger brighter display.
Thanks.

Another newbie question. The manual does not explain. Do the fuel tanks empty simotaniously? It appears that mine is reducing more on the port side than on the starboard according to the smart craft.. Both engines are running fine and sinc up quite easley.. Port shows 81% Starboard is showing 91%.

Hello have you filled both tanks then ran the boat the. Topped them off again I found my fuel sending unit on my starboard tank to be way off when I did the top off test and did not run my genni my tanks were less then 2 gallons different but my gushes were off by a quarter tank

The key is to have your "outlet" switch on (switches in the generator/shore power part of the panel). You have to shove the hose in pretty firmly. Twist a bit and, if it goes on and off, clean the contacts like MasterFab says.

Yeah, shoot, I tried that and it didn't work. Do you have to be on shore power. I had the genie running but nothing...

This might have been discussed before but i cant seem to find the, thread. i have a '04 340 da an am upgrading all audio components and cannot find where the amp is located. I have looked under & in back of the salon sofa as well as the aft storage compartments. Is there anywhere else i should be looking?

Ray, you have two amps located behind the electrical panel inside the cabin. Have fun with removing THOSE puppies!! If you do replace them, do me a favor and take plenty of pics.

K. Kid,
Thanks for the intell
I'll be sure to post pics of entire upgrade.

It "should" work in either mode. Obvious statement, but be sure you have your shore power and/or gennie switches on to whatever source you are pulling from. You should see the amperage needles move towards the right.

One more thing...open up the cabinet where the vacuum is housed (the actual collection tank) and look to see if there is a switch in there. Also, check all your outlets with GFI's to be sure they are not tripped.

Thanks, found out that the vac gets its power from the outlet outside of the locker it is in. Checked that for power and it is dead. Interestingly it is the only ac outlet on the boat without power to it. Now, so far I can't find where that ac wire comes from. Has to be a break somewhere as it is the only thing on the boat without power.

I think there is also one in the head medicine cabinet - or, am I imagining that. Reason I say this is when we took delivery of our boat, we had the same issue (no vac). When the dealer came and checked it out, the GFI was the issue.

Henry - did you check the GFCI outlet inside the head cabinet on the right side?

Thanks guys, tried all of those suggestions to no avail. Looks like I have an electrical problem somewhere, will have to get an electrician on board I guess. As that is the only outlet without power and I can't seem to trace it, so electrician it is. The good news is, I purchased this boat this March and it has only 215 hours and that is the only thing not working.... Not bad.

Thanks again

Henry
