340 SUNDANCER THREAD

Hi Dale tried searching through your blog as well as around this site for info on TV's added to to the 1998-2002 Sea Ray 340 and have nit seen much. Yesterday I tried holding up a 26" LG LED on the opposite side of the helm in the cabin and I think it won't work. Because of the angle the TV would have to hang out at the bottom to be vertical and I'm afraid trying to get in or out of the aft seating would result in someone or me banging into the TV.
We kind of decided on removing the 13" TV and would like to come up with a mounting system for a 22" TV that should fit in it's place.

I noticed the same thing. I think I am going to fabricate a mounting system for the TV in this spot that uses a linear actuator. When the TV is turned on, the actuator will extend, and the TV will swing into position for viewing. Then when it's turned off, the TV will retract, and fit up tightly to the bulkhead. That way, the access to the hanging locker will be preserved, and a larger TV can still be fitted. It also opens up the existing TV cutout in the galley, for other uses. I'll probably get to this in a month or so, and I'll finalize the design then. If I go this route, I'll post pics.

I think the swivel system would work, would love to see pictures of this and if the system was not too complicated maybe you could sell some  Trying hard to keep the Admiral happy, she loves here TV.

Quick question: I have a "new" 2006 340 DA/Sportsman and I don't know what the in-water height is from waterline to top of arch. Our new slip has a bridge nearby with fuel docks just on the other side, and not going under the bridge means about a 10 minute ride around the island to the other side to get to the fuel docks (best fuel prices within 20 miles). The bridge has a low-tide clearance of 14', and I haven't tried getting under the bridge yet. Any help would be much appreciated.

My 2002 , which is similar to yours, in terms of height, measures just under 14' when it's on a hydraulic trailer, for transport. So, it's about 3-4 feet less when in the water. But, that's with the radar and TV antenna taken off, and with the antennas lowered. Your best bet is to take a measurement of your boat while it's in the water. Remember to allow for waves and tide, and leave some room as a safety factor. If there is any doubt, take the 10 minutes.

Dale - many thanks! And I will definitely take the extra ten minutes if its even remotely questionable because, heck, its a really pretty area!

Carpet removal. I got some good advice on removing the horizontal carpet on my boat. What about the vertical stuff. Got one to pull it off with pliers. Anybody ever remove the pull out settee and forward step cushions to the V-Bunk? Need help guys!!!!!!

Any one ever have to replace the a/c pump in the bilge? Where do you buy that puppy from?

Page 2.5 shows 10'4" waterline to top of arch but then you need to add for whatever else is on top of it. http://www.searay.com/boat_graphics/electronic_brochure/Company1729/1C1_23_74DEJAKY58T.pdf

Thanks, Woody, I called Sea Ray and they said it's a "Dometic PML 500L" pump.

Yes, we recently bought a new A/C pump for our 340. They are March pumps and the best deal ($80 cheaper than other lowest cost for the same thing) was from: Bill Suozzo, Tri-State Pump Inc., 5044 Industrial Road, Suite C, Farmingdale NJ 07727. Ph: (732)223-3222, Fax: (732) 223-2587Email: bill@pumps-parts.com

Thanks BritLady , My Local guy can get it to me for $299 and West Marine has it listed at $289 so I'll see what Bill can do it for.

I JUST called and they said "We don't handle March Pumps anymore"

OK, Next problem. Has anyone had to disassemble the starboard side interior close to the electrical panel? I'm on another thread about a leak that's ending up where the bulkhead meats the cherry cabinetry just aft of the electrical panel. Thought I should post here since we all have the same boat on THIS thread. PITA rain water leak. I pulled the Electrical panel to see the stanchions, but had to pull the radio to see the one just fore of windshield. From what I did see, all is either dry or dusty, as if it's never seen water. As I said the end result after a rain storm is water dripping down the cabinet on the curved section that bumps up to the bulkhead. I'll try and post a picture of the exact area that i'm referring to...

I'm talking about the bottom left side of the T.V. all the way to the left, where the bulkhead padded area touches the rounded section of the cabinetry. If you look closely, you'll see a slight indentation on the cushion part of the bulkhead where it makes that turn to tuck under the back of that electrical panel cabinet... How do I take this sh!t apart to get access to what's behind all of that to watch as I have someone run a hose to simulate rain water, to find the dang leak:huh::smt013
