Bridog- what a sad reality. An overall list of 10 items on a brand new $200K+ purchase and we have been "trained" by boat manufacturers to simply say, "Oh well, it's expected, after all, it is a new boat".
Seems like the tail is wagging the dog here.
Hopefully the list remains short, but...
Good Luck Mike- too bad ANY of this happened.
This is major stuff and I know it has the potential to take some of the "new boat fun" out of the experience. The good news is, you have a great boat and have already discovered several things you love about it. By the time winter storage rolls...
I'm wondering if those of you who have purchased a brand new Sea Ray have experienced an abundance of construction debris in your new boat?
Since taking possession of our factory new 2008 330 last summer, I have removed 71 stainless steel screws of various size. When I found my first one last...
Obviously, very biased here, BUT, the RINKERS at our Marina all show signs of pre-mature aging.
The finish just does not seem to withstand the test of time. We have a mix of Rinkers, from 25 to 40+ and they all seem a bit "tired". On the other hand, we have some 12+ year old Sea Rays that...
Hi Bill,
Sorry to hear about the cable- never fails.
We bought our 2008 330 last summer. They had it too low as they were lifting it on the trailer for delivery, and the port prop caught the side of the trailer. Wham. No delivery that day. They did work hard and were able to deliver within...
I've always found that if they don't respond to a friendly wave, that I usually get a very quick reply to the one finger salute!
Try that next time and let me know how you make out. LOL!!
Some great points- thanks guys. My issue exactly. I want the slings where Sea Ray wants them too. The lift today went well. Sling on the back was dead on. Sling up front was back about 1 foot or so from the mark. I felt better that it was this that was back a bit- less chance of it slipping...
How important is sling positioning with respect to where the sling indicators are marked? I was told that as long as you are "close" or within a reasonable distance, you are fine.
It would stand to reason that there is some margin here, but I would think that 'dead-on' is preferred.
The...
My $.02- this is a big part of what we love about marina life- making friends that are in most cases seasonal pals. I find that most/all of the other dock mates will stop and chat from the dock- if I don't feel like company, I step out onto the dock, talk about the weather, etc, then say...
If you only want $50,000 I think I would buy it! LOL!! Obviously, there is always "interest", it all depends on price and condition, but you know that.
Absolutley- great point. Our business, HVAC, deals heavily with issues such as CO with cracked furnace heat exchangers and IAQ issues. An adult is fine at 30ppm or less for long periods of time. The trouble starts at about 50ppm, but even at that, it takes about 8 hours of continuous exposure...
I do agree with your point.
We've boated our entire lives, always ran smaller 17-21' runabouts, so the world of sport cruisers is all new to us as of last summer. I would suggest that almost 90% of the Sea Ray cruisers that run in our area all sport a camper top, and most of these operate...
Looking for some help with a faulty depth gauge.
My depth gauge is located in my stdb. tachometer, part of the standard SmartCraft package from Mercury. It is not providing any reading at the moment, it is flashing 0.0
I turned the power off and tried it again, no luck. Wondering if I need...
