Congrats. Our son, now 5 months... was on the boat w/in a week or two. I got a Mustang Lil legends vest for him. It says in the car when not on the boat. When we get to the Marina, it goes on. When we get back to the car, it comes off.

I consistently go WOT w/ the rear open. Front is a sail and I don't plane w/ it open. Had additional problems with side to side movement with the front bimini in choppy water which required some additional straps to stop the movement.
I'm confused, which fuel tank access door? Perhaps the 2000 model didn't have this, but I am confused.
As far as the drain back, I had it get clogged and it was a frustrating coat hanger episode to clear it.
Didn't see what drive, but I've had "burps" that required a top off. One last year about 20 hrs into the season was sizeable and I was sure I had a problem. Topped it off to chart loss and it was fine... just a burp.

Interesting project. When SR changed the bow hatch to open on the side, did they change anything other than the hinge and lock location? You might be able to get the parts from SR.
