Hey Dave....and Gang,
We are making a serious push to move up to a 240DA that we have been really needing.
Our dealer has 2- 2006 240DA's which qualify for a $5000.00 cash rebate which is factory paid after the dealer and my best negotiations. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I want to be able to afford fuel if we pull the trigger. The $5000.00 is that e-mail many of you had which was presented as a Lease of a GMC truck with a purchase of a new boat, but knowing that the 240DA has a GMC Canyon Packaged with it(which won't tow that boat) :smt017
I'll take the $$$$$

Hey Todd, we just ordered a 2007 240DA and got what I thought was a great deal. I'd be glad to compare options and pricing if it will help you in negotiating your deal.

Won't be us. We just bought our 1996 250 Sundancer last month...maybe next year

Yeah. We're getting very excited. The admiral and I will be looking at the new one either this afternoon or tomorrow. Looking at it online wiht her last night she got excited about the head with a door (currently ours is beneath the forward berth cushions - a hassle in the night) and the microwave and fridge. I am excited about the additional room and storage. I was hoping the one they had in stock had the dark blue hull but the white will do just fine.
Yes Slack, as we e-mailed to one another. I sure would love to see it but Texas is a jaunt for me I think.

new to me

have to admit....moving from a 82-270 to a 90-310...closed on it yesterday...been surveyed, sea trail and all in all...pretty darn good dhape.....interested to see what the learning curve will be...going from 1 screw to twins

No chance for us. I upgraded to a 280 last year and have found it to be the perfect mixture of size, comfort, performance and operating cost. As a result, we are good for the forseeable future.

No new boat for me. Just got the boat at the end of last summer, and still in the "honeymoon" stage.
Looking to pay for Disney World trip this summer and a snowmobile I wrecked this weekend. I told my wife that I wrecked it only to show her how cheap boating can be compared to other more destructive hobbies!

Currently in negotiations on 3 Boats:

A used 340, a used 310 and a brand new 320. The admiral says we are buying something.

The wife really likes the new boat. I am trying to save some money. :smt017

I want to thank the folks on this board helping me make this decision. Oh and I am getting bites on mine :smt038

When I was looking to move up from the 290, I had negotiated a deal on a used 340. I took the family down there to give it the thumbs up, and I couldn't get them off of this new 380 that was in the showroom.

I thought it was too expensive, so we looked at a used 380 they had in stock. Well, I was outvoted 4-1, and we ended up in the new 380.

I need to leave them at home next time. A new boat will just show up in our slip, and we'll all wonder how it got there.

No plans to upgrade. We've only had the 320 since last spring. But we are going to the Miami boat show again, which is what started the last shopping spree. We are focusing on the canal front home next, and may make some offers and see how motivated some sellers are, but eventually will look for that 40-something diesel to park on the bulkhead.

For those looking, I'm still enjoying the 320. After a thorough look through, I'm still not feeling the 310. I do like the grill, but the gold vinyl looks like vintage 1960s chevy vinyl. And the inside seems really cramped. I liked the old 300 better. And the swim platform is so long that the cockpit seems to have shrunk.

FWIW, I noticed on ebay theres a 320 taken in trade for $99K buy now. Looks decent. Inboards even. Wow.....

Staying right where I am at. My marina won't tolerate anything bigger than the 03 420DA, and neither will my wife....and I love her, so she stays.

And my wife can hang around too.

But seriously...when my kids are bigger and keeping an eye on comings and goings in the cockpit will be less critical, I think I'd like a bridge boat. But we will see. Apparently I am supposed to be saving for the kid's college education.
Good grief.
An Army ROTC scholarship was good enough for me, and West Point was good enough for my wife...hmmm...college fund or diesel fuel; college fund or diesel fuel....

No, we won't. Our 340 is such a well rounded package, in pristine condition and we literally stole her for what we bought her.

With our new born ariived at 1-1-07, we are going to sit tight and see how he agrees with the 340 accomodations. Going up in size, even to a 380, would cost us double what we paid for the 340 and that just doesn't figure even though we could afford it.

Alex,
Not to hijack the thread...congratulations on your new family member! My youngest went aboard the 260DA at 6 weeks and has spent many happy hours aboard. If you wish we can start a thread on little ones aboard to share lessons learned.

regards

Todd hit the "buy now" button you deserve it sir!!

Skip.... psssst .... diesel fuel.... diesel fuel

We really enjoy our 280... and like the fact that we can (and do) trailer it anywhere... I thought it would be the biggest thing I would like to tow.... but maybe we could squeeze a 310 into a freeway lane... hehe. That would be a few years away.

I have been looking and am now getting my dock rebuilt to configure a bigger boat. I have a 290AJ now, and with a 5 year old and an 18 month old, the AJ is just too tight (and the 5 year old wants to bring friends!) Plus, I just don't dive and fish off the AJ much anymore.

I am on my third Sea Ray now and I have always bought the size boat to whatever age I was- 240BR at 24, 260BR at 26 and the AJ at 29. I am now 34 so it looks like a 340! I better hurry, as in October I turn 35 and Sea Ray does not offer a 35!

Seriously looking at breaking my trend and going with 2003 380. We'll see- the admiral is not convinced just yet, but I think it will happen soon.

I'm reviving this old thread. The topic is timeless.

As for us...we love our 2008 260DA, but discussions about moving up in size have already started creeping into conversations. Yikes. Where does it end??

So...considering the economy etc., anyone planning to make a change?

Funny you decided to do this today. We too love our 260DA. Yes it's a bit crowded with my family, but it serves us well on many fronts. What's still very important to us is the "trailerability" factor. I do not want to be a 2 boat family, so dragging it around the country with us is very key. So no move yet.

That having been said, a dealer in FL called today, (that's the "funny" part for me), said he had an '08 310 coming in from customer looking to trade up already. Wanted to know if we ready to move up, yet. Timing is everything.

I was getting close to a 290SS for this summer, but the convergence of the economy and family growing resulted in a least another year for the 240SD.
