I have had to add drive gear fluid to meet the full line on the fill compartment. Is this normal? When trimming the boat does it tend to lead to leakage? Any advise is appreciated.

Also, any other fluids that need checked that I am missing?

More specifics about the leak would be helpful. Recent maintenance?

Or, better yet, try a search - there are quite a few threads on this topic. You'll more than likely find your answer by reading a few.

If you just recently changed your outdrive gear oil, it is not uncommon to have to top it off once or twice after you have used the boat several times. Air gets trapped during the fill process and it takes a bit of time for that to work out.

On the other hand if you are loosing oil on a regular basis, you may have a leak somewhere. Look for any obvious signs on the drive itself or in the engine compartment. I had a slow leak from my reservior one time that was not obvious until I really started to look. If you can't find any obvious signs of a leak, then get the drive pressure tested and that will usually identify where it is leaking.

Didn't see what drive, but I've had "burps" that required a top off. One last year about 20 hrs into the season was sizeable and I was sure I had a problem. Topped it off to chart loss and it was fine... just a burp.

I think a leak would show itself in one of two ways. If the leak is below the water line, you would have milky drive lube. A leak above e the water line would most like be in the engine bay and appear as oil in the bilge. If you don't see either then I would agree with the others, you most likely had air somewhere in the system that burped out after operating the drive.
