I guess we dont have any professional water skiers here that was used in competition the spotter would move the flag either port or starboard to notify other boat which ramp or jump platform the skier would be using .

Did you pull oil dipstick and look for signs of water if you filled a cylinder that would lock the motor up and not show any difference in temp or oil pressure?

I use vaseline just make sure the impeller blades are going in the correct direction if you use the strap i found just twist in direction of flow and vaseline insures correct rotation . Good luck its easier then you think once you do it your like huh aint nothing to it .

Thanks for the info what a shame so young just goes to show the sea has no mercy even in little water ,i just can see how someone with that kind of training could disappear in so fast he must of broke his neck or got knocked out .
