What is this thing ??

Do you pull it to start the motor like a lawn mower

lovin' the responses
(but I seriously don't know what it is/does)
I DO know alot of things it DOESN'T do

I am new to boating but I believe it is called the flux capacitor switch which FYI also controls the Finnegan pin. Mine is right next to the extension cords I use for my cordless flashlight... :)

this one works so well i'll trade it to you for the interior of your boat

Tell you what, just throw me the keys to that Mopar and keep the switch and if it's a big block with a pistol grip, I'll throw in my mother in law to sweeten the deal... we good?

That is where you put the plutonium that generates the 1.21 jigawatts of power needed to run the boat.

1.21 Gigawatts is what runs the flux capacitor.

Is there anything behind it? Are those indentations for setting the position of the knob? So far I'm leaning towards a wind up boat!

nothing behind it but the rest of the boat
the screw in the knob is about 1/2" long going into a blind hole
It should hold something and the divots in the base make it hold that something in a particular position/angle at 45 degree increments.

I guess we dont have any professional water skiers here that was used in competition the spotter would move the flag either port or starboard to notify other boat which ramp or jump platform the skier would be using .

Don't any of you guys recognize an old style mechanical door bell? I bet the clapper fell off on the other side years ago like it used to do if Grandpa slammed the door.
