When u say thermal vision are u talking about night vision or underwater thermal?
Greg, you're bringing slushy machine? Oh crap, now I'm starting to run out of excuses.
If you go I'll take you for a dinghy ride!
Night Vision.

But then I wouldn't b able to bring it for him cuz I would b dead!
Alex I thought u weren't able to make it? . Ill b arriving sat am. As for other options. Is really not Woeth leaving zacks. The only other safe and calm anchorage area is nautical mile as u know and hemlock cove but that's the same as zacks just different location.
Yes, original schedule didn't look good, but I've made some changes and looking to attend the event, actually hope that I can even start Fri night and meet up with Greg by Statue of Liberty. We may have few other boats coming from CT, including Larry.
Do you guys think that 70'er Pershing will have enough water and room in Zach's?
Unless the owner of the Pershing wants a VERY expensive tow bill I would suggest he stay away from the State Channel. I'm not thrilled with the prospect of heading there with my boat. I may take the new CC on Saturday morning and just stay for the day.
.... Would Larry be joining us Friday night as well?
Hanging in Zack's for the weekend sounds ok to me.

Brian,
I'm not sure where the state channel is. Are you saying that coming from Jones Inlet and follow the magenta line (and of course markers) won't give us enough water under the keel?

I don't recall having issues in that section, but a lot could have change after Sandy.
Looks like there's only one trouble spot posted:
"The actual channel is well south of the marked magenta line as indicated by buoys G19 and R22. There is less than 5 feet of water where the chart shows 20 feet."
The only comment I have is I don't think there is any way the pershing will fit in thenarrow shallow entrance yo zacks. I'm nervous every time I thro ugh with my boat. Very happy everybody is coming tho!
