What Mods do you have planned for the winter?

I'm going to tackle the ice bin upgrade under the rear bench on my 185 Sport. A truly functional add-on. Also, I need to remove and repair one mounting bracket for my tower. The MM guys who installed it let one of the vibration pads get damaged and torn and one edge has worked itself out from under one hull bracket a little bit. Mostly aesthetic, but it bugs me. Finally, if budget allows, I will upgrade the helm seat with a flip-up bolster that was also available as a 185 option, but not included on mine. Wee-Haw!!!!

bouttime,

probably thinking you could just hop in the water and go!

more realistically, they have a first year engineer that has no idea of the volume of liquids ingested while on a boat, nor the muliplier that translates into outflow.

Not a whole lot for me to do to my boat this year in comparison to what I've done to it. Mainly its things that need to be done to sell it so we can upgrade. :)

- Remove outdrive to:
- Change impeller
- Change all bellows
- Anything else that needs attention while the outdrive is off.
- Paint outdrive

Is it easy to get replacement "Mercruiser Alpha I" decals to make my outdrive look new once I paint it?

My updated list:

1. get I/O bellows, engine coupler & pump impellers replaced as preventive maintenance -- MECHANIC BLESSED CURRENT CONDITION
2. install new stereo & remote, replace speakers, add speakers, including transom remote and transom speakers
3. get LED anchor lite -- DONE
4. put roller guides on the trailer -- DONE
5. look at bigger boats -- IN PROGRESS, NEVER DONE
6. go to Chicago boat show to look at bigger boats
7. install 2000 gph backup bilge pump & switch -- DONE
8. replace holding tank vent fiter cartridge -- DONE
9. replace fridge and cooktop
10. line cockpit ice chest with insulation

New items:
11. Have opening 'windows' and screens installed in bow and stern isenglass panels
12. Permanently mount Sirius antenna
13. Fabricate fender storage on old swim deck

Well its never winter here but... here are some things i wanted to do...

Step up to a 220 select..

But if i keep my boat im thinking about..

-Getting the proper mount for my garmin gps
-Bench seat coolers
-Changing the captains seat to a 195 fold up seat
-Some lights (swimdeck, or nice lights inside for night cruising)
-Definitly front speakers

6. consider GPS upgrade. ($$)

The admiral decided to see how easy it would be to pull out the carpet in the cabin. Fortunately for me it's OLD, 21+ years old. It started to come out pretty easy. She pulled up about 2 feet, then quit and proclaimed, "This will be an easy job for you!" ARRRGGGGHHHHH

21+ year old carpet? You might be able to sell that on eBay.

4 - Heat on the circuit breaker board. No easy solutions. Perhaps a small fan directed on the board? Move the board? Wire in separate CB and relay for blowers?

5 - Drilling: Rod Holders. Sawing: Nothing yet. Screwing: Why else buy a boat?

4 - Maybe we could tap into the hose coming off one of the blowers to direct some of that airflow across the CB board. Unless, of course, you may be worried about directing concentrated (heavy) fuel vapors across a CB board which has a marked propensity for breaking circuits due to heat.

Well, I posted a separate thread about custom graphics, and related to this, I ordered my boat with just the two tone colors (blue/pearl). I am going to be designing and applying my own graphic design to the hull, front to back.

I will take pictures of it when I am done with it over the xmas holiday 2 weeks off.

I will also be doing some deck work, as far as graphics, and some electronic additions.

Anchor windlass
Re-upholster helm seat / cockpit side panels
Coat the entire cockpit in "Tuff-Coat"
Re-paint the dash / helm and install new gauges
New door and hatch panels / re-finish teak trim

I would love to see your pictures of your Anchor windlass mount. I purchased for my husband a anchor roller/mount for the boat (Christmas present).
