Atlantic City Rendezvous 2010

What does Cap'n Ron's butt crack have to do with Atlantic City?

And FW is certainly correct...you hose is about to blow Cap.

If we get enough CSR boats to go, we can just add $5 to our slip fees, and buy Trump Marina.:smt101.. I heard its for sale...

The table of the gods should be something to see this year... I hope Mike makes another movie...

Rod
The movie was actually shot by Danielle (Rudy's daughter) - well, at least the shakey part. The steady part was my great directorial skills.

I faxed 6 pages over to Farley today. one cover sheet, 3 initialled pages to prove I read all the fineprint. One was our roster of 29 boats with boat name, cap'n name, LOA, beam, electrical requirement, one was my signature and CC info to reserve the group and one was a breakdown of how many of each size slip we need (30' slip, 40' slip, 50' slip, etc). I suppose we can start calling in with CC info at this point.

That is one impressive list we've got. If FWebster is joining us from FL I don't know what kind of excuse remaining 12K members have. LOL

What's up with our Long Island group? This could be a very nice trip for you guys as a group. I'm sure Mike already has the route plotted.

Hey Rod,
That's a very nice of you to offer, which also sounds like extra party night. If anyone would take advantage of this offer I would love to take a quick ride to keep you guys a company.

guys, looks like the a/c trip is very successful, i hope the LI trip turns out to be as popular and maybe an annual eventkeep up the good work:smt038

hey rod can you move your house to LI ?

Joe, are you coming to AC with us?

wish i had the guts, i havent ventured that far yet.thats why i'm only going to the marina in aug. i looked at the pics from last year looks like a blast. how long of a trip would that be for me?

Joe,
I know what you mean and you shouldn't feel bad. There are a lot of people that don't feel comfortable doing these long trips for number of reasons. This is why I had suggested for LI folks to form a group and turn it in to a very nice group trip.

As for the distance and the way to do it this is very similar to the trip I'm planning from NJ to LI in August. Manasquan Inlet to Fire Island Inlet is 60NM. I don't recall which inlet is closer to you FI or Shinnecock Inlet, if SI then I'm guessing it adds another 15NM or so. As soon as you jump in to Manasquan Inlet you're in protected waters and you can take ICW. This I would say is one of the concervative routes. Another option is go from desired LI inlet to Barnegat Inlet, which adds approx. another 15NM, but it saves you a lot of time.

If you decide to take the trip, I'd suggest take Rod's offer to dock at his house. This way you can take MI and you'll be 1hr away from Rod's house. Then, in AM we'll most likelly have our fleet travelling together, so you'll have no worries getting from where you're to AC. You'll have no problem finding a company to travel back to northern part of BB as well.

Joe,

I'll be heading down from the Hudson if you want to meet up and have a travel buddy for the run down. I'll be going on the outside, but as long as the weather is nice it's a great trip. I know what you mean about not having the guts to venture that far. But it really isn't that bad. Two years ago (our first year boating), we made a trip from the Hudson River to Mystic, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, and Block Island. Last year we made a trip up the Erie Canal into Canada. A little common sense, keep an eye on the weather, have the proper safety equipment and you'll be fine (and have a great time).

Just called and booked mine too. Now the waiting begins. Who is going to put up the countdown timer?

Just bringing this thread back to the top of the 24 Hour thing, as I will do from time to time. Please check the first post and be sure you (or any buddies you have referred to me) are on the manifest. I don't want to omit anyone.

I've heard Rumors that Mr. Webster may be bringing up some 'local lobster'....those little critter types.....I think they're called crawfish......we're gonna use Gary's shot gun for target practice on them....that is...if he gets the gun out of the pokey in time.....
