Yay,my kids are Republicans!

You guys warm my heart. I wish this woman was running for Pres.

If they win the election in November, she'll have the nomination eight years later, unless she does something grossly stupid. I very strongly doubt that she would do something stupid, so figure on seeing the lady in the White House in 2017. Of that, there can be no doubt.

Best regards,
Frank

Given McCains tender age, she may be in the White House before '17. Maybe she will pick Cindy or Rudy's wife as a running mate!!:thumbsup::grin::thumbsup:

McCain steps up to the plate tonight......He doesn't need to hit it out of the park, but he has to keep the ball in play.......he needs to keep the momentum going......

The post RNC polls will be very interesting to see.

All I can say is if the USA is stupid enough to elect a naive, flip-flopping, liberal, anti-military muslim as president after 9/11 (over a proven & decorated war hero), then we deserve what we get! Wake-up America, our future is in our own hands!

A simple observation:
B-Rock talks of a vision of change to the young. And along comes Biden
John..well he acts on it, and delivers one of their own. Here comes Sarah.

Well done McCain/Palin! A true change was witnessed last night.

Turtle- start the vats of popcorn, the next 62 days will be a blast!

McCain will be 80 in 2016. Kind of on the outside edge, but not terribly so. As far as Palin's running mate for 2016, she can't do better than Bobby Jindal. He is doing a good job of cleaning up Louisiana after decades of corruption and mismanagement. Two reformers with strong executive experience. Works for me.

Frank

Can't have everything, Frank. If they take care of the tax and economic problems, we can afford to go out and get ourselves some trophy wives.

Just kidding honey!

Frank

This thread is a fascinating read. . .and helps to confirm something I have been thinking over the last few days.

At first, I thought this VP pick was a crass play for disenchanted Clintonites and other libs. . . .now I see I wonder if the intent was really to re-energize the conservative base! Fascinating.

Personally. . . I am wondering how things play out. I personally don't give a hoot about "moose hunting" or other internal family matters. Put Trig on the rifle range tomorrow for all I care. Either end. Really, I don't care.

I am more interested how the trooper gate thing goes (is there a real abuse of power issue here?) and how the Bridge to NoWhere thing pans out (was she really for it, before she was against it. . and did the state still get all the money?). Was she vetted *before* or *after* last Friday? Maybe my questions have already been answered properly (by someone other than Republican cheerleaders). . . . .

Speaking as an independent who generally believes politicians are lying whenever their lips are moving. . .I remain unconvinced.

Palin was outstanding!! But McCain really needs to spell things out for the American public. He can't just keep saying that Barry is going to raise our taxes. well no S#%$ he's a tax and spend liberal. He needs to reassure us all that our Congress will stop the rediculous spending or he for sure will stop it for them. Give us some answers not just sound bites.. "I'm not Barry" works fine for me but he had my vote already...

Hmmm...I tend to think BOTH and EVERY party is pretty screwed up in some ways, and very good in others.

But ya'll just keep toeing the company line blindly and vote based specifically on party. Seems to be working the last bunch of years

Yup. Exactly where I am at.

McCain: Tell us something I don't know. Tell me who you ARE (besides being a POW and a US Senator), and not who you ARE NOT. I already know that you are caucasion and not from Texas.

All I know so far is that in your first Presidential level decision, you picked a running mate who;

(1) is pretty much an unknown at the national level
(2) was chosen after one or two interviews and
(3) chose with minimal vetting.

Either you are a GENIUS. . .or a dangerous whacko.

I am highly interested in the "reformer" side of Sarah P. -> but that is being questioned at this point.

The way I see it. . .McCain has an opportunity tonight to give us HIS vision of America and how he intends to Govern.

On the other side, Obama impressed me by defeating Clinton -> No small accomplishment there. Biden was an acceptable choice (I didn't expect him to pick Romney) for VP. I was not impressed with his Acceptance speech.

Well. . .the political system is a bit mucked up right now.

I am trying to figure out if you are being sarcastic with the last comment. On one level. . . . I am doing ok. I have a nice SeaRay.

On another level, inflation is high and the dollar is really weak. Internationally, we seem to have gotten into the Nationbuilding buisness, and have "enhanced" interrogations such that we say McCain had "tortuous interrogations" as opposed to what really happened. . . .some correction in National policy does seem to be in order.

In the words of the hot dog guy "I no voting for John Reagan bulls$$t"

"Free hot dogs all of day if Democrat elected".

Have I ever said how much I hate politics being discussed on a brand specific boating forum  why

So far this year I saw choices that ranged between bad and horrible. Four years ago, it was bad and horrible. Four years before that.. bad and horrible. The only thing that separates this years choice of bad over horrible from the choice of bad vs. horrible 4 years ago is Gov. Palin. What I've seen so far looks conservative to me. Given a choice, I'd rather not have McCain anymore than I wanted bush, ciinton, or yet more bush. But that's what we got stuck with. Sometimes you have to hold your nose and select the least objectionable choice available. At least we can hope that Sarah will point dopey John in the right directions.

Best regards,
Frank

I don't believe so. Perhaps you'd like to elucidate?
