1975 Olds STARFIRE - Orange with a white interior. Bought it used from a friend of my mom's after it had been in a minor accident and she deemed it "too small". I had a CB radio in that car and the antenna was mounted right in the center of the top-painted the base of the antenna color matched to the roof - Even installed an external speaker in the front grill under the hood so I could use it as a PA/Speaker- It had a casette deck and I installed speakers everywhere "Rock-on"-How cool in those days...??
Wow, a lot of you guys had some awesome rides back in the day!
I grew up driving my parents boring rides - first car that I drove was an automatic 69 VW Squareback. That was followed by a 73 Dodge Dart with the slant 6 and a 76 Dodge Colt.
After bringing the Dart to college, I finally bought my first new car, which I thought at the time was a great compromise of "performance" and gas mileage. It was an 81 Dodge Colt RS with the twin stick transmission. The transmission was a 4 speed with a separate lever for power and economy which effectively gave you 8 forward gears and actually 2 reverse gears. I used to regularly prove that there were 2 reverse gears to the disbelievers in large parking lots. I usually drove it using the "power" setting and shifted into "economy" once I was on the highway.
Here's a picture of one that looks just like mine did, right down to the standard "RS" color package.

First car I drove was a '72 VW squareback - stick. That, and intermittently a 1970 Lincoln Continental MIII - Gold, Brown top, brown leather, 460 V-8 - the "French Connection" car. It's not easy going from VW brakes to Lincoln Brakes. First stop sign and I locked all four of them up.
Here's my 69 2 door hard top. 460 with dual exhaust. There wasn't a spot on her until I sold her awhile back. I just love the classics. Owned a bunch of them too.
Hey I could post my 74 Ambassador Brougham bit even I have standards.:smt009:smt009
Nice car. My mom really felt special in her Mark. It was a great car. It had fiber optics from the tail lights to a little robot-head looking thing on the rear deck. When driving, you could look in the mirror and see what your tail lights were doing.
