What gets your undies in a bundle?

Most of this stuff is anoying, and can be dealt with, but the two that top my list

1-Blowbotes, at first on a perfectly good heading, following traffic, that insist on tacking across a narrow channel (like Huntington NY!!) within 50' of you. So close you need to cavitate in reverse to avoid cutting them in half with 20 tons. AHs every last one of them.

2-Waterbugs (waverunners/jetskis and now powered surf boards), lurking on the sides, that come out of nowwhere with no regard for the rules let alone their own safety:
a) Heading straight for you, trying to time the wake and jump them so close to your stern, that if you pulled back the throttles they'd broadside you. I can hear the bones cracking. (then again suing them for everything they got wouldn't get you a bowrider)
b) Jumping wakes BETWEEN boats, crossing your bow!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, and somehow........THIS IS ALL OUR FAULT!

Ahhh...see this is where I and most others seem to split on what to do...

I would purposely get a slip there, along with my friends, and blast them out with music, drinking and my kids who would be happy to have water balloon fights.
That's funny there, Bill. I'm with you on that one:lol:.

Tubers.

Skiers,Boarders,Tubers. When the rider falls down. Pull back the throttle and idle back to the rider. DONT PUT THE HAMMER DOWN AND FLY BACK TO THEM!!!!! Its f***** everyone. Sends rollers everywhere, wastes gas and is pointless.

Uh, don't know where you boat, but we have so many dumb a$$ jet skiers and boaters for a day on our lake that all my kids would be dead if I did that. I can't begin to tell you how many times the only reason an oblivious "cap'n" didn't run over a downed skier or boarder was because I did a ski turn and shielded the skier from the dumb a$$ with my boat.

But that brings up another thing that drives me crazy: The cap'n that thinks it is more important to see what's happening on the tube than what he might be about to run over.

Bugs + No offshore wind = dirty boat = undies in a bundle.

Closing up the boat, going home and realizing I left something (phone, etc)

That spot between the dash and windshield where all the bugs go to die, and I can't reach them!

Take your portable vacuum and either vacuum them out or direct the exhaust air toward them to blow them to where you can vacuum them out.

I'm with Tim on this one.

Ahhhh...brilliant observation...I missed the original posting you responded to.

Definitely, I will gun it and turn around and protect whomever has fallen in the water. I could care less about any wasted gas or waves when compared to the life of my kids, friends or family.

well it seems after talking with the hubby that we may go ahead and purchase that slip and do just that.

I know this has been stated several times here but, STUPID PEOPLE get me all wound up. Whether they be sailboaters, jet-skis or other power boaters (No brands excluded).

Leaving the entrance to Baltimore's Inner Harbor last night we got buzzed by a jet ski. He sprayed (SOAKED) my wife and our friend. He was so close it was unbelievable and closed on us at somewhere over 50mph (guessing). If he would have lost it the damage would have been severe to people and property.

I considered giving chase but I would really miss boating if I killed this inconsiderate person.

Just venting but why can't people think??? It doesn't have to be a well laid out plan but something like --> If I stuff it in the back of this boat at high speed, my life and others are going to change...

While I am glad the only damage was a wet wife, it could easily have been more and I would like to have a few minutes with that guy...

I realize that some boaters just like a slow idle relaxing cruise but what really gets my panties in a wad is when you are in a 6 knot speed limit area and the boats in front of you are either idling along or going maybe 3-4 kts.
I know that allot of people don't have the luxury of a GPS giving your exact speed but come on. Everyone should realize that 6kts is approx. 8 mph, not 4.

Those at Gunpowder Cove, MD. know of what I speak. An approx 3/4 mile run from the marina to the Amtrak bridge with a line of boats putting along. It's one of the reasons I left there.
Ok, I feel better now.

1. People who violate the no wake within 200' of a dock law and put water over the back of our transom. (The sherrif did this last weekend prompting a call to 911 so his sargent could chew on his ....) 2. Fishermen who cast lures up against the middle of our hull so the lure will land at the bottom of our boat where the fish like to hang out. 3. Dock attendants who are clueless when it comes to knowing how to properly tie a boat up so the lines are tight and the swim platform is not laying up against a piling.

Cars in the marina parking lot with their high-beams on facing directly out the channel I'm trying to come in through in the dark, completely blinding me... and then "flashing" me when I shine my spotlight at them in hopes they'll turn their lights off... brutal...
