What are you using to connect to the WWW at the boat?

Wow, really? And there's no harm in doing so? Can you still synch with itunes, i.e. my songs, movies, playlists, etc?
 
No harm at all. It will sync just like any other iphone with itunes. The downside is that once you do it and fall in love you can't jump to the next 2.2.X upgrade from apple right away. Do so un-jailbreaks the phone back to normal and then you have to wait for the kind developers to release a jailbreak for that software version. Which is usually only a week or two away. I am at 2.2 and have not moved to 2.21 I could but don't see a reason feature wise yet to jump...

On top of internet sharing, there is a new program called XGPS which does turn by turn navigation on the 3G phone. It is donation ware and I tried it yesterday ans it is not all that bad. It uses google maps and I like how those maps render...

Well hell, I did it. And I'm really glad I did - just the video capabilities alone make it well worth it - thanks for giving me the shove.

BTW, PDA net was the first ap to go on there!
 
HAhAH!! Welcome. If you don't already have navigation in your car go onto Cydia and grab the XGPS application. That will give you turn by turn navigation for free or a donation if you really use it. It not half bad...

For music I am really enjoying Slacker radio... On 3G is bullet proof and has had little to no trouble on Edge either...
 
Ignorant question here. VerizonWireless offers mobile broadband service at two different levels. 50MB and 5GB. Do these numbers refer to speed or to the amount of data I'm allowed? How is that quantified? How would I know which plan to get?
