What about those of us who tow to the water? Lets see your tow rigs.

Nice rig, boatrboy. But, it looks like the boat and bowstand should be moved forward on the trailer?

Very nice outfit but it does look like there is some of the stern unsupported. Maybe the bunks hang back but cant see.
Guys - you are correct in assuming the bunks are a little short. I balenced the tongue weight and the boat ends up a little further back than I would like. It trailers perfectly so I am looking at just extending the length of the bunks by the foot and a half to cover the rest of the stern. I only trailer to begin and end the season and the ocassional repair. I only need to go a few miles so my expedition is only for these short hauls and works fine for this. If I went further I would use something bigger.

It looks like you have plenty of trailer forward of the bow stand. Can you slide the bow stand and axles forward the same distance to get the boat further up on the trailer? I slid my bow stand and axle forward 18 inches and retained the same weight ratio front to back but got the stern over the bunks like it needs to. I do trailer mine every weekend for about 60 miles each way so it is important for me to get the stern up to the bunk.
The state troopers won't think it's falling off the trailer too.

BTW it's a beautiful boat.

Lots of nice rigs. Here is a shot of my 1976 F350 Camper Special that I pull my S280 with. It has my 1973 Crestliner all aluminum 19 foot cuddy and the 1971 camper I gave my brother after this shot was taken. The boat was originally Gold and I painted her blue.

Talk about that 70's show spent a lot of good times in that camper in during the summers.

I use this. No BS. Hey it works and I'm only 1/2 mile from the marina. 1976 Olds 442 and 1986 250FC.

Thanks for the compliment as she is my "pride and joy". I originally had the boat forward but is was such a PITA getting it off the trailer because the truck was soooo far in the water the exhaust was touching. This set up now pulls perfect and rides smooth - but I will admit it bugs me to see that much overhang. Its been like this for five years and I store the boat in my yard and block up the keel for the winter as extra overkill. One of these days I will buy some wood and make longer bunks :)

I would love to find a 76 Ford camper special pick up with a 460 cu.in. to pull Old Skool with. Way retro!!!

Oldsman, It just aint right. It's like a 300LBS woman in a thong. Just because you can just doesn't make it right...:smt043:smt043:smt043

Well it is a 442....should be good.

Here ya go. I don't have a boat yet but, this was taken a couple of weeks ago just before I drove to Nebraska to look at a boat that the owner said was in good shape. It’s still there if anybody is interested in a huge project.

I’m still looking for the 255 or 270 Sedan Bridge to put on the Caulkins triple axle trailer. Maybe this winter/spring????

1995 Ford F-150, V-6, 5-speed, 4WD. Paid $1 for it and then put about $1000 into new brakes and electrical. Works great for my little 175.

Not my rig, but it is impressive. Ford F-550. The trailer hitch is hydraulically operated. The boat trailer is very strange. Look closely at the wheels that the boat is sitting on, they are hydraulically powered and drives the boat on and off the trailer.

I believe that would be an F650.

My other boat is in the backround with the camper canvas. We use the smaller STV to get to places a lot quicker LOL.
