What about those of us who tow to the water? Lets see your tow rigs.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but here is a picture of my old tow vehicle:

There is no railing for the guy on the bow? I'm sure that's a USCG violation, wait he should be wearing seat belts!! :smt043Hit the brakes and he ends up on the pavement or on the tow vehicle!

I feel sorry for the traffic stuck behind that sucker! If he pulled over to the right JUST a little bit......

Take a close look at the car on the right. Is that a light bar I see? Must be 2 cruisers following for support. Wait, no it's an OJ Simpson police chase. They must have seen the guy on the bow.

I sure was glad to get it home. Now if a can just get it in the garage.....:smt043:smt043

Is that a WD hitch I see?

Yes it is. The suspension on the new truck is pretty stiff, so there isn't much sag of the rear suspension even without the WD hitch, but it is still required to get the full rating of the class V hitch. The excursion was pretty soft in comparison so it made a huge difference in the ride quality.

Interesting. I used a WD hitch with my Durango..but couldn't even get it set up on my 2500. It barely sags in the rear with the boat hooked up.

Do you know the axle rate for your 1999 Jeep. I want to tow my 2010 185 sport but I was told by Jeep that I only can tow 1000lbs with my 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4 doors with 3.21 axle rate.
