But if he loses what have conservatives gained? You have a county divided and the liberals are not going away. I am conservative and we had a similar issue in Canada when the Liberal party won. The Conservatives here forgot about the fact that you need to convince the middle-left to vote you in. If you play only the extreme right, you may win once, but it will backfire. That is where you are headed. So much wrong here. See above in RED...

What's the deal with wide-spread testing? Why not just test symptomatic people? Unless I feel ill, I will not subject myself to testing.
I get it to test when necessary as in before admitting to hosp before medical procedure etc....but testing for the sake of testing seems to stoke fear. Why are people waiting in line for hours to get tested if they feel fine? Living in fear is not living.Depends on the state and more importantly, the agenda.
In some states, testing is required to be admitted to a hospital, to have a medical procedure or to work in a certain environment. Other states broadly expand that to other areas. Keep in mind the testing is not perfect and actually has a fairly high false positive result.
Not really. If you consume the daily MSM and cable news, one is led to believe that. That's the narrative being pushed because it will dampen voter enthusiasm, and inflate voter apathy. The democrats desperately need to keep people away from voting this November, because they are nominating one of the worse candidates they could possibly nominate. And his nomination is driving down voter enthusiasm for the democrat nominee for this election.
The democrats are also seriously over playing their hand with the draconian measures they instituted during the covid lockdowns, and now with their backing and support of domestic terrorism. Those actions are driving voters away and not attracting new voters to their cause. If you look at some actual polling the President enjoys an all time high record of support from the black community and the latino community, which has the DNC terrified. The other event the DNC can't get control of is the silent vote, those voters who support the President but don't openly talk about it but will head to the polls in November and cast their vote.
Above is the reason for the push of "mail in voting". The desperation to tilt the playing field is evident for the democrats.

Clearly you and several other's on here worship the ground Donald Trump walks on. Maybe you will be right and he will win again. I think he will not. You have no choice now though. The GOP is "all in" on this hand being played in November. I think the best thing for the US would have been Trump being impeached last fall and the GOP having time to select a solid replacement that is more sure to win more of the center in November. Time will tell.

I got a six pack that says Trump in a landslide.

Lets talk about testing again.
So we are testing people just to test. So if they come back negative, great. That day they don't have COVID. But now what? Are they going to test everyone every day? Similarly if you are asymptomatic, and get a positive test, what next? Do you resign yourself to social distancing for the rest of your life? Or do you have to go back for testing until you are negative? Either scenario makes no sense. Widespread testing creates widespread fear, with no payoff, and it seems that you are placing a huge burden on people, labs etc that have to execute the test and process the results. If you are not feeling well, with the known symptoms, by all means get tested. The only numbers that matter in my opinion are How many people are hospitalized with confirmed COVID; How many die, and how many recovered. The number of asymptomatic cases is meaningless, unless you are trying to scare the population. I am trying to understand this, so please enlighten me.
The best news is that death rates seem to be lower as time goes on. US infection rates are skyrocketing, so as long as death rates decrease to bad flu status, this will resolve. If death rates rise rapidly again, all bets are off.
Keep in mind that the US is not the only country that is rapidly increasing testing levels, but is unique in the developed world in increased positive tests. So the case numbers are increasing by much more than just the result of increased testing. Some other countries (eg Canada) have BOTH increased testing AND decreasing positive test rates.
I don't think I am misinformed, definitely not trolling. I am trying to understand why we are doing so much testing. You need to do your own research. This thread and many others in this Tiki section of the forum have tons of information. Things make no sense to you because you are misinformed or just trolling.
Go read and educate yourself, although I promise much of what you read will be politically biased propaganda, on both sides of the aisle but at least you'll be able to contribute vs constantly posting "makes no sense to me" comments.
And yes, I'm off my meds.
