You are referencing times when people defended themselves with their gun, I'm talking about mass shootings. Certainly everyone has the right to defend themselves in any way they can. No one's trying to take your guns away dear Lord, but the continued push back for background checks makes no sense there are too many mentally ill people getting guns for the sole purpose of murdering innocent people.

I have no problem with handguns and I think most Americans don't either, but when people are showing up with magazines in assault rifles and killing large numbers of people and there's no background checks that is insanity. We have millions of severely mentally impaired people and some are purchasing guns for the sole purpose of killing people. The tragedy in Atlanta last week is an example, that shooter bought that gun the same day as he killed all those Asian women.
So if so called "assault" weapons are banned, what's to stop the mentally ill from using a hand gun instead?

Exactly it does not matter about the weapon even handguns 15 round clip one in the chamber and a back up clip can dump just as many rounds into you as an AR 15
